The icon should only change depending of our vehicle, if we have horses than the icon should be someone riding a horse across the map, if we have a truck then it should be a truck, if we have a humvee then an humvee should appear in the map. :)
I feel that would require a bit of coding that could be avoided by just doing it the way he is currently doing. I don't know I'm not very techy just my uneducated opinion.
Or you could just manually change it yourself to suit your needs and preferences. Like what he's showing in the picture
