Welcome to The Mortewood Plaza. Best summed up in three words; Zombies, Weapons and Mayhem! Created By Dec Doyle.
These two new images so some more progress for now.
One image shows the flame-thrower working with its thinner more aligned flame that works almost perfectly now :)
The second image is because someone said i need gibbing, so i made gibbing work. I know it looks a little extreme, but its needed. Blood goes everywhere, you will be able to shoot zombie heads off, and blow them into tiny pieces like legs and arms. A leg GIB is shown in this example :)
Thanks! and all comments welcome.
Bloodbath at its best.
Haha Thanks :D
Gibs!
No zombie mod should NOT have gibs.
Great job.
Haha, well im in that category then :P
that is awesome blood spray >:D.
Yeah man!, grusome as needed, and there is a severed leg on the floor with a peice of hip-bone sticking out the top :P
One time i gibbed my gib
Ahh, only a true gibbexpert could find your gibtacular problem! :P
Finally gibs!
Yeah, its much better now also alot laggier!
Yay gibs! Blowing up zombies should feel great now. And the blood decals really fit. :D
Thanks dude!, i will make a few more variations to even it out a bit, but all the stuff I've added is pushing Mortewood to be a high performance only game :/
Nice, just need other 'new' blood for more realism !
I don't understand?
All blood decals here are custom and new.
LOVE the blood decals, but the only logical thing I can think of that frere is reffering too would be more variations in size? other then that I can see nothing wrong at all, I LOVE the decals ;) they look so much more realistic then hl2's
Oh thanks :D
Also i have a variation is size lol, just look at the less "splattery" ones on the floor, they are more solid but smaller :)
Will the gibbing work like if the player has a shotgun and he/she shoots the zombie's arm, would the arm come off and the zombie dies instantly? or would the zombie keep going but with only one arm to try to achieve it goal of killing the player?
It will most likely be shoot them in the arm and nothing happens, shoot them in the face and the top half of their body will be ripped off. To make the arm disappear is an astonishing amount of code in which i have to find a way to detect every shot on every zombie model and make the bone shrink very small. And i don't know how to do that sorry.
At the moment i have:
Shoot the head of any zombie.
Slice a zombie diagonally with a katana.
Blast the top half of a zombie off with shotgun.
Smash a zombies head in with a slegehammer.
Blow up a zombie into MANY pieces that go flying everywhere!
Hope that helps!
"Slice a zombie diagonally with a katana."
its something that i saw into smod already (when using a knife on a zombie it literaly cuts off in two parts. it reminds a lot those "ravenholm" traps). its awesome anyway :D
... Not only are they normal zombies. They are the effetcs used in half life 2. And that is cutting them >> IN HALF << directly horizontally. not diagonally like i have done.
So no. SMOD did bow have this.
And them ravenholm traps do the same thing because its a default for half life 2.
Please actually read and do your research before posting next time.
this blood sprites are perfect, they even look cartoony!!
How do they look cartooney? They are more realistic than the half life 2 ones...
Also they are called Decals. You obviously know nothing about games and how they work.
Textures are much better then the original ones.
They look more like real blood, unlike the hl2 ones were it looks like someone spilt ketchup on a wall
Haha yeah, i worked hard on the textures to try escape the half-life feeling.
I think it requires alot of code in c++ i think, plus it requires a arm gib model and possibly a leg gib model... it's not easy to create gore.
I have arm legs and gib model that come off.
You can see them if you look closely.
