Rome Total War: The Last Emperor is a minimod for "Barbarian Invasion" focusing on the final years of the Western Roman Empire.
Some of the changes included:
-The game runs now from 465 AD, under the reign of Western Emperor Anthemius (a puppet of Ricimer), until 630 AD, just before the beginning of the Islamic conquests.
-19 playable factions, including Roman rebel factions of Gaul and Dalmatia, Ostrogoths, Desert tribes, Celts and Romano-British.
-New map with new regions (now there are near one hundred provinces...) and capitals.
-Corrected and historical descriptions of some Roman units, with new recruitment options.
-Some units have been suppressed due to they were not longer used during the late Roman Empire.
-Costs, balances and abilities of some units have been changed and updated to the difficult times of late Roman Empire. Now it´s cheaper for the Roman factions to recruit barbarian troops than their own native soldiers.
-You'll be able to see some Bagaudae among the rebel peasants (brigands).
-New loading screens.
-All Roman barbarian units now have the ability of "war cry".
-Roman legionary cohorts now have the ability of make a shield wall.
-Now even small cities have the ability to construct walls, instead of wooden palisades. It was commom in the late Roman Empire for all cities to have a line of stone walls protecting them from invaders.

I must tell you that I´m not a modder. First I did this little mod just for myself, but finally I decided to share it with the public and translate it into English...
With the latest version (2018), I added some minor changes and corrected some bugs, and I also enhanced the translation of the game into English (now is easier, just follow the instructions).

This is a good mod for a forgptten period....however i find the campaign of the WRE too easy, given the situation the WRE is supposed to have been in these times. Maybe keep WRRebels and ERRebels, while giving Nepos' domain to ERE and Soissons to WRE? So we could also add Odoacer as a rebel, with low lotalty from the start.
I do all the instruction but it's still occur error: "please select an item from the list"

Hola fui capaz de bajar el mod e instalarlo siguiendo las instrucciones para steam, pero a la hora de clickear en "campaña principal" el juego me pone "seleccione un elemento de la lista". No tengo manera de elegir facciones; ¿alguna idea de como hacer para jugarlo?

I enjoyed playing your mod though I played older version (non 2018 one) and slightly modded it by adding more hun units, new hun soundtrack, new horses and some reskinned romans from RTW. Also I applied MM map as provincial campaign. Should I upload these changes for others to enjoy?

PLAYING THE MOD: As you know Rome TW can only be played now from Steam. You must make a security copy first of the original "BI" folder inside Rome Total War folder (C:Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/Rome Total War Gold/bi), delete it and sustitute it for the folder "The_Last_Emperor" of my mod, renaming it as "bi".
It should work with 0 problems.

Hi there! The game looks promising but it doesn't work at simple sight. How can i execute the game if it doesn't have the embeded link to run?

Yo tengo el problema en que cuando instalo los archivos dentro de la carpeta de BI; cuando tengo que crear acceso directo, debo agregar un enlace que me permita hacer correr el juego, pero eso no existe. Ahí es donde yo choco.
Encima que es uno de los pocos mods para el BI, no anda :c
