"The Invasion" is a First-Person Shooter that implements several Real-Time Strategy elements. Focusing on constant, open warfare and making teamwork key, this total conversion allows players to use strategy in place of brute force at any given moment - but not every player is as forgiving.
OK, I'm finishing the Anthropoid model (we still have to pick a real name for this class) and I wanted to share some screenshots of my work in ZBrush.
Yes, I love the default red clay material, it's great for modeling and finding imperfections.
Also, I made a wallpaper out it using Photoshop, hope you like it.
Next week I'll be posting some images of the default human model (Im going to make several versions of each with small variations like different helmets and things like that) then it's off to skinning and porting it into the game! Scary stuff!!
very solid model! nice job!! looks fantastic!
Um...
IMHO. Using a Zbrush for this was unnessesary. Actually, this one can be created using 3D Modelling Package Program like 3D Max of Maya there u can get a better (clean) shapes that should be inorganic. Using ZBrush for inorganic modeling is a bad idea...
I mean: there not enought details for using ZBrush...
Also hadns are too long, legs are too thin...
But in general - good work.
Well the characters aren't inorganic, really. Essentially they're half and half, but I suppose that isn't really much of the issue here. Maya is great for creating a base to work with, but ZBrush allows the artist to polish and create details in an abstract manner, or to create an entire figure from scratch - all at a pace that is necessary in this situation, specifically using ZShpere if the artist is good enough at doing so. As for the hands and legs, the legs are made the way they are to give the concept of an animal's hind legs (much like a cheetah or dog), and the hands and arms will be longer for the sake of "grabbing things", or whatever your imagination allows. The arms won't necessarily remain the same, they'll look less like human arms and more like something slightly less organic. Thanks for the input, we appreciate it! ;)
