11 unique factions full of new heroes, spells, and abilities. Hundreds of new maps. A brand-new campaign. A thoroughly reworked and expanded War of the Ring mode - and much more!
The Golden King. Once a cruel figure of ancient legend, whose grand city and vast hoard has long vanished amidst the searing sands of the Haradwaith desert, he has recently stepped out from the mists of time, returning to unite the Haradrim under his dark banner...
And before you mention it, we're aware that he doesn't look exactly like his concept art. That was *concept art*, meant for inspiration and setting a tone. This is the final result of that.
reminds me of the time I ordered a ps5 from wish and got a box of rocks
Looks mysterious and sinister, and I'm absolutely here for it!!! Can't wait for what I can already tell will be my favorite faction!
Looks like one of the nine .
He may be one of the Nine...
He is one of the Nine.
so that would make him Ji Indur, the Grim Southron, also known as "Dawn-Death"?
In AotR Canon he is Hoarmurath, Third of the Nine.
Wait, the third is Dendra Dwar, the dog lord
Not in AotR canon, nor Tolkien's canon! Dendra-Dwâr is a Middle-earth Role Playing Game creation, which we are not following.
Maybe im to naive, but the mask eyes look kinda sad, does this mean his spirit is suffering of his undead existence?
I almost feel he is screaming from the inside, like a regret of his unwilled downfall into darkness yet enslaved forever.
The price of a ring of power: that's what it does, once a proud king of man doomed to die but desiring power most of all and thus blinded by his own ambition he accepted the ring from Annatar and thus like the other kings given the rings fell into shadow and became the Nazgul
Spooky
Looking terrifying and mean, amazing job!
Epic!
Will the concept art end up as his portrait? It was to beautiful to not make it some way to the game
No, his portrait is reflective of his ingame model.
HON
I wonder if he was Numenorian or Haradrim before he fell to Sauron?
In life he was not of Numenorian heritage.
In life, he was the cruel king of the ancient city of Abrakhân which lies in Haradwaith.
Very fitting for a Nazgul. Excellent work!
He looks as excellent as Platinum! Love this design!

I really like the mask - it gives off the impression of being from an earlier era, maybe Bronze Age-like. That works very well with the fact he's a Nazgul, giving the impression that the Golden King is from a different, ancient time, and that his reappearance in the world is unnatural. As per usual, you guys do really good job with visual storytelling. Congratulations!
Thank you! That's very kind of you
Yes! This is basically what I was going for.
the golden king , not that much gold
I really like the simplicity of the mask. Like it just communicates how fallen he is from a previous opulent existence, enough to earn him the name; the Golden King, now he's just a wraith, a tool in the hands of a master, no opulence, no individuality what simple adornments to his black robes are more remnants than they are defining qualities.
I am however biased to Curved blades (I know, I know) so I'll be bitching about this >.>
I'm way too hyped for this faction you guys, fantastic work as always.
so... he's a Nazgul
Correct.
the haradrim and easterling units are not there, the haradrim have been completely cut off and heroes like the golden king are not there
