We're adding a new Create-A-Captain class in 8.0. The Ranger of the North will feature lots of very ranger-ey customization options such as belt accessories and cloak brooches. It'll be part of what is currently the 'Elves' category, which has been renamed to 'Wanderers of the Wild'.
This is great! I hope you will give some overhaul for the elven custom heroes, too! :D
I do hope this concept gets expanded. I would love to see some of the unique and detailed character design for the units of Gondor, Rohan, Haradrim, Rivendell and other factions + some of the Inn Units make it in the captain creator.
It would be a shame to have such fantastically designed factions, yet have most of the custom heroes be limited to the uninspired vanilla designs.

A very warm surprise indeed <3 since the main theme of 8.0 is Haradwaith and thus you have managed to overhaul Rhun for Mordor, will you consider to optimize/expand the Evil Men class of Create a Hero as well ?
Oooh I'd love to See Enedwaithrim/Dunlending Chieftain Become a class, or Black Numenorean Nobles, or Umbarean Corsairs or Harondor Warlords :D
Will the hero be able to be customised as an Ithilien ranger too?

So much kudos to Mathijs and team for all the hard work. They not only bring us the best this game ever dreamed to offer, but also continuously expand and improve upon their own top-tier modding. The dedication to the infusion of expanded lore and design is fantastic. It keeps my friends and I coming back to this game year after year after year… The quality of these updates justify any length of time spent on them. Well done to all.

Originally the plan was to have the CaH ranger use those animations when you build your Ranger, but sadly it was having issues and it wasn't really working how we wanted it to so it was ultimitely scrapped. Putting a sitting ranger in the back however is not a bad idea, we'll see!
