You are Charles Longden, an archaeologist studying Minneburg, a German castle abandoned due to recent cave-ins. You are sleeping late one morning when you are shaken awake by a tremor running through the castle. There is no sign of your partner, Jane. Where has she gone?
The answer lies only in the depths of Minneburg.

Hey folks! Been a while, hasn't it? I hope you're surviving this year as well as you can. With the upcoming release of Amnesia: Rebirth, I'm hoping there will be a renewed interest in custom stories.
I'm going to try and push a minor update pretty soon to address confusing puzzles or story points. These will mostly be clearer mission objectives and on-screen text. Time permitting, I may push a similar update for A Coward's Debt.
I'm not planning any more major Amnesia content. I originally had very preliminary plans for a third custom story, but the idea fell apart, and soon after, my fellow team members became unavailable. I don't have the money to hire new people, and I also no longer have the time to work on such a serious project.
I hope that you still have fond memories of this custom story!
If anyone is wondering what I'm up to these days, I'm currently the host of a Dungeons & Dragons podcast called Cornfields & Kobolds. If you're into D&D and/or podcasts, check it out!
I am pleased to announce my newest work in progress, Amnesia: A Coward's Debt.

It's a freaking masterpiece! I beta test all the chapters and I was speechless when I reach the end. It's damn long as it should be, interesting, entertaining, really scary, atmosphere is top-notch! I have nothing bad to say about this one.
Everyone should try it and love it right away! One of the best Amnesia Custom Stories easily!

I'm at the part in the laboratory where you have to add the essence from the rose into your chemistry pot. The problem is the game won't let me use it. Whenever I click on it is says: "cannot use item in this way". There's no way to progress which is pretty unfortunate, as I've gotten a couple hours into the story.

I need help... I'm at the beginning basically, right after I pick up the second orb piece the green one while I have to hide from the new monster the one with the orb piece in it's chest... When i go through the exit though it loads a map of another mod which is not even in my custom stories folder anymore because I played it long ago... what should I do?
I've found the solution. Just like Damascus himself has said, your should go through you Amnesia foulder and delete every other custom story/total conversion that has maps with the same names as the one in the Great Work. Unfortunately, if you don't know the exact name of the mod that the game keeps loading, you will have to delete each and every one to play this.
The only major complaint I have is your excessive use of motion blur. There were multiple times where there wasn't even a need for any sort of special effect to be happening, like when the lady statue would appear behind you. Even when some kind of special effect was warranted (like when you hear flashbacks of people talking), the motion blur only served to make the game hard to look at while I was just trying to open drawers and stuff. I think it would've been much better to just do that thing the base game did where the lighting/tint changes while the flashback is happening. That would've been much easier on the eyes while still indicating that something special was happening.
