Post tutorial Report RSS How to create a server on Elite Force

This tutorial will teach you how to set up a server on SWAT: Elite Force.

Posted by on - Basic Server Tools

Getting the Master Server Patch

In order to play online, you will want to get the Master Server Patch.
From that link, install the SWAT 4: Gold Edition version. Do not place the DLL files in the SEF/System folder, or they won't work. If you have already installed the master server patch, you do not need to install this again.

After this patch has been installed, you will see game servers on the Join Game menu. It is recommended that every player install this.

Opening Ports

You will need to "open" or "forward" ports on your router. Specifically, SWAT 4 needs 10480-10483 TCP/UDP opened. If you want to use WebAdmin, you will need to open port 6000 TCP also. (Or whatever port you choose in creating the server)

Setting up the Server

Now you will need to go ingame and set up your server, including map rotation, admin permissions and settings, etc. Use the LaunchSEF.bat to launch the game and use Host Game. Now set up your server - including the name of the server, map rotation, and other settings. Make sure to tick "Launch as dedicated server" in the Advanced tab.

Now, once you have adjusted the settings to your liking, you're ready to launch! If your server crashes or your computer restarts for updates or something else, you can use the Dedicated Server.bat to start your server quickly.

Hi,
how can I log in to webadmin? It's asking me for username and password, I don't know where those are, can't seem to find them.
Thanks

EDIT: seems like i couldn't get to webadmin on default port(6000) changed it with 10490, now everything works (with role password you assigned in-game or in a file)
if you're hosting and playing on same pc like the readme says you get to it with 127.0.0.1:#port_number (eg. 127.0.0.1:10490)

i'm leaving this here so other people with similar issue can see

I cannot get it to work. I follow all the instructions, I port forwarded all the ports from 10480 to 10483, even replaced the DLL in the SWAT 4 folders. It makes the server, I even see in the dedicated server console that it's up with no errors. I tried joining VIA direct IP, no luck, it even doesn't show up in the server list. What may I be doing wrong?

if your host is on the same network, you'll only see it in LAN
you can check if your server is up for the internet on Swat4stats.com

I port forwarded correctly (checked the port forward checker to see if it worked), but the server still won't launch. I'm looking at my server log right now and its seems to keep pushing "responding to ping"
