Can we have a different key for that?

Sure, I can see about doing them as separate keybinds. I'm going to be doing code related to that soon anyway.

good to hear...

Its sometimes to hard to perform certain actions with your own, such as checking for traps, and forced double-binds certainly do not help.
Melee sounds reasonable for this case but you never know.

exactly. it already bugged me that interaction of some items with doors would require the shooting key and could lead to accidental firing and thus alerting the defenders.
while i can't think of any reason why one would fire their main weapon accidently by aiming the optiwand a few centimeters off in reallife.

Those interactions are just shortcuts for your weapon bind though. You can tap 7 to bring up C2, 8 for toolkit, 9 for Optiwand and 0 for wedge.

Nice work, something as basic as this should have been in the game in the first place. Will this also call for the person to respond verbally?

For AI officers I don't think they have appropriate voice lines for it to work. But I might be able to work something out.

Help me please! Idk what happened, but all my equipment was removed. I restored all my weapons, grenades etc, but I don't have toolkit. And my officers too! When I press 6 (or 7, I don't remember toolkit's number) appears an inscription 'toolkit is not availible'. What can I do? I need my toolkit!
Sry 4 my english I'm just russian )

Hi, try downloading the DynamicLoadout.ini from the Github: Github.com

And replace the one in SEF/System.

Description

In v7, when you have a tactical item or a Lightstick equipped and you tap the melee key on a teammate, you will give them one of those items. You cannot give a teammate a second optiwand, or any equipment which would raise their weight/bulk above maximum. (Using melee with a weapon equipped still causes a punch.)

A new keybind has been added to disable special melee interactions (giving items, or checking locks with the melee key).

If you were wondering what this has to do with the context system rewrite, it's because I changed the loadout system to make this work, and the changes consequentially broke the context system, which was calling native code to check if officers had usable equipment.
