Stra-D2Mod for Diablo II: Lord of Destruction

Stra-D2Mod is a mod for LoD 1.13c aiming at increasing the playability in single player (especially for veteran players) preserving most of the mechanics of the original game.
The main features of the mod are: enhanced rate and quality of dropped runes and items; shortcut progression in normal and nightmare difficulties; super-unique monsters hunting and specific regular monsters (belonging to rarely explored area) hunting for getting special rewards; Bosses-only area; increased experience with increasing mlvl-clvl difference; monsters type specialization in dropping specific items; downgrading runes and gems; rerolling all type of items; many new cube recipes; gold economy revisited.
It is HIGHLY recommended to use Stra-D2Mod with the latest version of PlugY (v14.03) to consult the mod Cube Recipes in the extra stats pages of PlugY and to activate Diablo Clone and Uber Tristram quests.

Stra-D2Mod main features:

1) Blackened Stone quest:

The aim of this quest is to kill (in Hell Difficulty) 42 superuniques monsters for collecting distinctive items (dark green text coloured) that can be used for cubing the Blackened Stone and thus obtaining GC skillers and other useful charms.

2) Potion of Iniquity quest

Collect (in HELL difficulty) 8 distinctive dark green coloured items (dropped by regular monsters belonging to rarely explored area) for obtaining the Potion of Iniquity. The Potion of Iniquity can be used to spawn Diablo Clone (by selling it to merchants).

3) Unique Stone quest (Boss Mod Area)

Defeat Andariel clones (Venom Queens) and Duriel clones (Cold Kings) in the Drift Cavern (Act 5, hell difficulty) to get the “Unique Stone” used for powerful recipes.

4) Drop rate:

-Increased runes drop rate: high runes drop at a reasonable rate without preventing the drop of lower runes

-Downgrading runes and gems

-Unique monsters specialization in dropping unique items

-Champion monsters specialization in dropping set and high quality white items

-High quality items appear early in the game

-Enhanced drop rate of uber keys and essences

-Items always drop with the maximum available number of affixes and staff-mods

5)Cube recipes:

-Possibility to reroll Hellfire Torch and Annihilus

-Gold charge rerolling of white class-specific items, magic, rare and crafted items

-Possibility to get normal-ethereal socket items from no socket items with fixed number of sockets.

-Possibility to make superior items

-Possibility to reroll uniques and make them ethereal

-Added cube recipes to get GC skillers and other useful charms

-Possibility to upgrade white items and to conver them in magic or rare items

6)Miscellaneous

-Mod for 1.13c patch of LoD

-No starting equipment

-Reward from Akara (after rescueing Cain) and Anya (after rescuing her) is a full rejuvenation potion.

-Charsi now turns a normal item into a superior item Instead of a rare item.

- A new item (Purple Flame) buyable from gambling, can be used to get in a faster way Rejuvenation potions.

-Act3 Quest2 Reward: Instead of an unique ring, Ormus gives now a special potion (namely, Safety Potion) in return for the Gidbin. The Safety Potion when cubed generates 3 x full rejuvenation potions.

-Nihlathak portal can be now activated talking to Anya even after nihlathak death.

-PlayersX in normal difficulty is now harder because suffers of the increased monsters damage of 6.25% per player as in nightmare and hell.

-Removed Experience penalty based on mlvl-clvl difference. As a consequence the higher the monster level, the higher the experience gained, irrespective of the character level.

-Baal in hell difficulty can now drop an Experience Potion which gives experience to characters.

-NORMAL and NIGHTMARE difficulties can be now completed in lesser time: quest items required for completing act2 are dropped by Blood Raven (cube) and Radament (viper amulet, staff ) whereas quest items for completing act3 (khalims’ eye, heart and brain) are dropped by Stormtree (located at the entrance to Lower Kurast). HELL difficulty progression is as in the vanilla version.

-Compatibility with PlugY v14.03

-Diaclo Clone spawns for each Potion of Iniquity sold (ofc, it works only if PlugY is installed).

-Disabled PlugY shared stash, reskills and restats. Restats can be obtained via a specific item buyable from the gamble store.

-Increased the max stack of keys, town portal and identify scrolls to 100.

-Gambling: No more regular items from gable store. You will find there only the three following items: Purple Flame, Transmuter Entity and Restats Charge

-Changed the colour of gems and rejuvenation potions on the ground from white to red and purple, respectively.

-Added new items (dark green coloured on the ground) for new cube recipes and quests (e.g. for getting GC skillers and other charms and for spawning Diablo Clone).

-New gold economy. Gold can be obtained by: 1) selling gems or runes; 2) picking up it from the ground; 3) picking up a new item dropped from monsters called “Discus” (dark green coloured on the ground).

-Vendors do not sell armor and weapons anymore

-Added the list of cube recipes in the extra stats pages of PlugY.

-Changed rune reward from Qual-Keck

-Changed Hellforge gem reward
