Stargate Races r1.02 Released
I'm pleased to announce that the latest r1.02 version of the mod is available for release. This update brings some changes that will have a pretty large impact on the mod going forward.
Migration to PBR
Stargate Races is making the transition to PBR shaders. Physically Based Rendering (PBR) is a newer, more modern take on how to render and object and the new shaders bring a bunch benefits. As such, the mod now requires my new project Sins: Remastered to be stacked and enabled "below" it in the active mods list.
If Sins: Remastered is not used in conjunction, the mod content will no longer look at all correct. If it is however, you can look forward to new visuals as you see below:
New Art Assets
This updates brings the first set of new art assets from my joining and partnership with Stargate Invasion. I've been busy texturing SGI's Asuran planet modules and some of them have made it into this update of SGR as Ancient structures.
New Skyboxes
This update also sees the addition of two new custom skyboxes:
Feedback
As you can see, a lot has happened in the relatively short time since r1.01's release and it has had a pretty big effect on the mod. I'm pretty excited about this new version. As always though, feel free to let me know what you think.
