Why don't they realize this is what the people love? Most people realize how blind and corrupt/incompetent the rebels are but they keep trying to make the EMpire as shallow as possible when the story they set up literally makes you love the Empire despite what these hacks write.
Story aside, the Empire has cooler evereything.
