What is Expanding Fronts?
SWGB: Expanding Fronts is a massive mod aiming to rebuild SWGB from the ground up with numerous new units, features, and gameplay elements, while at the same time staying true to the original feel, and art style of the game. Expanding Fronts is the largest and most comprehensive mod ever constructed for Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds.
How does it work?
Expanding Fronts aims to provide a wide range of gameplay options to suit any play style. Most of the game's 8 civilizations are being broken down into 2-4 sub-factions that will each have a unique way of fighting. Each of these sub-factions will house completely new units, buildings, and researches. We'll go into more detail on this feature in the coming weeks.
Can I help?
We are looking for skilled artists (2D and 3D) who can design, model, and animate new units, vehicles and structures. We are also seeking anybody with experience with the Genie engine in terms of genie.dat editing, and AI/Random Map scripting. What do I need to play this?
In order to properly play this mod, you will need to own Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds, and the Clone Campaigns expansion pack.
When can I download Expanding Fronts?
We do not have a set release date yet.

It doesn't really work on Windows 7 anymore, I tried running it on my Laptop, and it kept locking the machine up.
So what are these Sub-Factions?..
I've never experience the game totally locking up. The only issues I've ever had with SWGB on Windows 7 were the colors freaking out, which is a pretty easy fix.
As for the Sub-Factions, there's at least 2 for each of the 8 civs that specialize in certain aspects such as air, infantry, armor, etc. We'll be focusing on the Rebels, Empire, and Wookiees in the upcoming updates. Stay tuned!

Can someone tell me where i can buy the game for a decent price? On Amazon they sell it like a triple A title on launch day.
Unfortunately, there aren't many places online where you can still order SWGB cheap. I managed to find a copy collecting dust on a store shelf for about 5 bucks, though. Searching around some retail stores would probably be your best bet for getting a good deal.
On a related note, if anybody knows somebody at LucasArts I can pester to get them to put SWGB on Steam or something, please let me know.
