Concerning Balancing though, shouldn't a Providence with is advanced shielding, and better armament (and questionably equal complement) come out on go in a matching like that?

(Unless the advantage was more of a targeting one with you obviously focusing fire more effectively than the ai.)

Ya I would say I outsmarted the AI knocking out its supporting fighters first while the Venator concentrated fire

Description

So testing certain units and bug fixes and this pesky Providence came in and destroyed my fleet of 2 Acclamators and 2 dreadnaughts so I dispatched a Cruiser and Acclamator to destroy it once it came in to my system again. The Acclmator hung back as my Cruiser moved in with fighter support and slugged it out with the Providence. It was a close battle but my Cruiser won. Before this battle the Negotiator was attack by 4 Munificent Frigates. She lived up to her reputation and made quick work of the Frigates although she did take some damage. The images didn't turn out but it was fun and these battles are proving to confirm that I have the right balance in my space units.
