Can the gel packs be sabotaged by cheese-bacteria? ;-)

Literally one of my Favorite Ships in the Startrek universe, if not my most favorite federation ship.

@TrueNateDogg...
I love it. It's sleek it's 24th century. And you've gotta love the folding nacelles.
I'm hoping the nacelle animation will be implemented (if it's not already cos I'm blinded by love for this ship lol)

unfortunately, if i remember correctly, animations are impossible in sins.

Scimitar animates when it shoots Thalaron though (unless that's done differently; I'm no modder)

Well, having moving parts on an actual model in Sins is indeed impossible. The animations we have on models like the Scimitar are actually particle effects that give the illusion of an animated model.

The pivoting nacelles we have on Voyager are achieved in the same way - when Voyager is 'destroyed', a particle effect is triggered portraying the ship's nacelles pivoting upwards before Voyager jumps to warp.

Unfortunately we can't add this effect to the Intrepid class at large as it having the effect triggering for many ships at once over and over again could potentially slow down the game immeasurably.

Would it be possible for there to be a model of the ship when at warp, with the nacelles up? You could use the warp flash as cover for the transition...

Switching the model every time it entered warp and switching it back again as soon as it leaves warp would also put a large, unnecessary burden on the game.

Maybe just have it on the Voyager hero ship. The one that warps in once researched.

Description

Developed through the late 2360s and initially launched in 2370, the Intrepid-class deep space explorer includes a number of advanced features in her design. The Intrepid is often described simply and eloquently as 'quick and smart' by the engineers who designed her.

This description is fitting. Aside from being equipped with state-of-the-art sensors and science labs, the Intrepid is the first Starfleet vessel to utilise a bio-neural computer system, which both stores more information than standard Starfleet isolinear systems, and allows all the ship's systems to operate faster and more efficiently. Skilled helmsmen, for example, have noted that the Intrepid handles much more responsively than vessels still using isolinear based controls.

The Intrepid's warp drive also features a unique innovation in the form of its adjustable nacelles, which pivot upwards whenever the ship enters warp. This gives the Intrepid unprecedented control over her warp field geometry, granting the Intrepid both a higher top speed and the ability to hold high warp for far longer than most other vessels.
