Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
The Soyuz subtype is a variant of the Miranda-class that was often used as a border patrol vessel. Its Long range antennae allowed it to survey systems from long distance and gather intelligence. During the Federation-Cardassian it was extensively used along the border to anticipate enemy fleet movements and to gain intelligence on enemy defenses. Equipped with extra sensor buoys it can create sensor ghosts and disrupt enemy communications to give the federation a distinct advantage without ever firing a shot.
I feel a case of in game trolls coming on!
so is this going to be with the fleet call-ins, research, or say an option to buy on individual Mirandas.
Call ins? "Go ahead Rigel VII. I'm Listening."
That is one nice Soyuz class starship.
This will make an excellent addition to my Star Trek themed Space Engineers fleet! I hope I get to use it in STA soon!
Common, do the Ambassador-class :-)
it would be perfect for an addon
Considering the lost years era, i wouldn't discount the possibility.
This always looked more like a Battle refit, those almost looks like it's more armed to the teeth. Those antenna always looked like cannons to me.
Soyuz-class~❤ my Miranda battlefleet is waiting for you~
GUNS!
The additions are sensor antennas, not guns.
but we all wish they were guns
The word alone makes my testicles quiver...
So if I can make a guess, the addon "The Lost Years" will add research like the Lakota refit for the Excelsior that will "replace" the Miranda with the Soyuz?
doubtful. this addon will most likely have an entirely different ship line up, taking place long before things like the akira, defiant and even galaxy class were launched.
this more then likely will be a utility ship rather then something you want to take into combat, that maybe lets you spy on neighboring gravity wells when its adjacent to them. surely in combat it would be inferior to a role bar equipped miranda.
Perhaps then a new scout variant since we probably wouldn't have the Nova yet?
You teasers this is awesome and I'm overhyped already.
I hope you won't replace Nova.
And... about scouts... Could you add scouting ability and mine reval to Intrepid class?
You guys know the Soyuz was retired from service in the 2280's, right? Cool ship though.
