Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
A heavely damaged Saber-class limps home under impulse power. (showing of the new faction specific damage particles)
oooooh, one nacelle is on fire, and one is leaking, fire extinguishers and duct tape to the ready!
Yup, never forget to carry humanity's greatest invention with you: duct tape. No matter which universe you're in, there is nothing you can't fix with it.
Its like The Force: It has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together!
there is no force in the startrek universe.
Then how did Kes move objects with her mind? Hmmmmmmm?
Um...telekinesis???
That is the name of the ability, not a name for mechanism that enables it.
Besides, if Nokia can exist in the Star Trek universe, there is no reason why Star Wars (and the associated duct tape joke) can't exist there too...as fiction. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I'll head down to the Holosuite and watch Star Wars Episode IX.
I think you refer to the new Abrams- Star Trek movies concerning "Nokia".
You might have forgotten that it is THANKFULLY an alternative universe...
So, because Spock and Nero fell into a black hole, the Nokia corporation was re-founded on Earth? I don't think that make a great deal of logical sense.
Other products and businesses from our world that exist in Star Trek:
Macintosh
Michelob
Dom Perignon
Levi's Jeans
Jack Daniels
Pacific Bell
But even when speaking of Force powers, there are telekinesis-based powers such as Push, Pull, Levitate, Jump etc. If you read "I, Jedi", in the twelfth chapter you have the explanation of areas to which FP belong to.
well done for winning 'nerdiest conversation I've ever seen on Moddb'
but no, there is no 'force' in Star Trek, take your midichlorians through the 'nope' sector via the 'nuh uh!' wormhole! :D
I *know* that there is no Force in Star Trek, but that does not restrict me in trying to *explain* things to others. And I really do wonder what is so funny about that last sentence you said.
That looks incredible, really looking forward to seeing this ingame..
This game has me man ... i love the guys for making this game (NO ****) lol
It's a mod. But I bet they appreciate the enthusiasm. And it's very pretty guys.
That had to hurt.
seems to me call to arms isnt just going to be an expansion pack.
you guys are actually trying to make this release perfect in every single minor and oddly specific way possible.
I approve...
There is a saying: "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good." I kind of wish they would release more of it little by little so that in case they have to go do something else with their lives, we'd still get 90% or so of the mod. That said, their work is absolutely stunning.
One of these days the Federation will design a ship that doesn't vent plasma at the drop of a hat...
Or have a warp core breach every five minutes.
Or have a burnt-out phaser coupling whenever there's a fight
Or stop building computer workstations that explode and kill people.
Faction specific? The amount of effort you guys are putting into this mod puts full AAA developers to shame. Bravo!
