A comparison shot between old and new Defiant. The new one has undergone some tweaks after feedback from both the community and the internal team.

The old model kind of looks like STO's dyson sphere version of the defiant. Didn't really notice it until now. Great improvements btw, really like the new stuff! (Too bad it has to be destroyed by beautiful Gallors)

Digging the new now, kudos for listening to feedback. You all should be very proud of the fantastic work you are doing.
From what I see, the new model is bigger, has bigger (I think, no way for me to tell) nacelles and is (hopefully) better at DD.
She is proportioned much closer to the studio model. We've also taken some comments from the community on how she looks. So hopefully its a nice addition to the game.
I like both. You could make the old one (with the little 25th century look) make the Defiant refit.

Old. Old old old. New one looks flat and uninteresting. Old one looks rugged and beefier.
They both look friggin amazing to me! Maybe you could give the Defiant Hero unit one model/skin and the standard Defiant-class the other? No need to cut the old one out entirely, in my opinion.

Yeah sorry to say I don't think the new model is an improvement. The old one wasn't quite right either, but it was somewhat less noticeably wrong in my view. The new model's nose is too long, the nacelles too wide, and the rear end not streamlined enough. Oh well, no game ever gets the Defiant right. It's a weird shape to be sure, with a lot of subtle curves and angles. I'm no modeler but I imagine there aren't many ships harder to try and recapture out there.
Everything else in this mod is perfect, stands to reason that pattern couldn't last forever. lol
