That's not the intent, but I'm happy for these screnshots to act as a soothing balm if need be. :D

Always loved that old blood feud between the Klingons and Romulans.
To bad we were never given the reason as to the when, how and why it all started in the series.

That said, deep space nine sure gave us a lot of funny insults between the two races.
Especially in DS9 episode 6/26 "Tears of the Prophets"

First meeting;

Senator Letant: Really, Captain, I see no reason why I should sit here and allow this Klingon jackal to call me a coward.
General Martok: Apparently, this jackal has more courage than the entire Romulan Senate.
Senator Letant: You see my point?
Commander Worf: General, you must try to remain calm.
General Martok: This is not the time for calm. It's time to strike the enemy and strike them hard.
Captain Sisko: We found their weak point. Now we need to exploit it.
General Martok: But this p'tagh would rather sit home and count his dead.
Senator Letant: If we invade Cardassia now, all we'll do is count our dead.
Captain Sisko: Gentlemen, please. We're allies, remember that.
General Martok: What good is an ally who'll stab you in the back?
Senator Letant: (to aide) Notice the primitive rage in his eye, the uncontrolled brutality. Klingons can be quite entertaining, can't they? Every Romulan zoo should have a pair.
Captain Sisko: Sit down, General! Save your anger for the Dominion. Senator, you've studied our invasion plans.

Second meeting;

Senator Letant: So, it would appear that your weak spot is about to become much stronger.
General Martok: Leave it to a Romulan to run at the first sign of trouble.
Senator Letant: And leave it to a Klingon to leap to the wrong conclusion. The Romulan Empire has agreed to join the invasion of Cardassia and we live up to our agreements. The only question is, can the invasion be launched before the defensive grid is activated?
General Martok: We'll have to leave first thing in the morning.
Admiral Ross: Then it's settled. Good luck, gentlemen. Good luck to us all.
Senator Letant: Romulans don't believe in luck.
General Martok: All the better. It leaves more for the rest of us.

Every time i see these two characters bicker like an old married couple, it puts a smile on my face.

As far as I can tell they've always hated each other, even though they've cease-fires and even at least one alliance that we know of in the timeline. I would describe the Klingon-Romulan relationship as 'tumultuous', even in the best of times.

From what I can tell their current animosity springs from the early 24th Century, when the Romulans broke the cease-fire between the two powers by attacking Klingon colonies.

I think Romulans are very tsundere towards the Klingons they only break the ceasefires so their senpai will notice them, then when Klingon-senpai does notice tsundere mode kicks in and they hide their true feelings by being all denial.

Description

"Lieutenant, I understand your feelings about the Romulans, but this is not the time or place."

"If you had seen them kill your parents, you would understand, Doctor - it is always the time and place for those feelings."

"This Romulan didn't murder your parents. And you are the only one who can save his life."

"Then he will die."

----------

"Come close to me, Klingon. Let me die with my hands at your throat."

"There is a substance within my cells which you need to survive."

"Ah. Then you've come to hear me beg for my life?"

"No."

"I would rather die than pollute my body with Klingon filth!"
