Or,more precisely, where can I find them consistently, and maybe even in large numbers? They make for an excellent source of money and food... Assuming you can actually find a consistent supply of the buggers. Which I have not. I found a grand total of one Chimera,in Pripyat, and I'd rather not have to dance around Monolith goons while hunting for Chimeras.

I'm pretty sure most mutant spawns in Anomaly are highly randomized (which I find amazing, personally). So my guess would be that there are no fixed chimera spawns. You encounter a guaranteed one during a mission for the Clear Sky leader, but he'll only offer that mission... Maybe once every few days? So I'm afraid you're out of luck.

I figured that their spawning would be much more heavily skewed towards North of the Red Forest, due to their status as being among the most dangerous of mutants, and the Zone generally getting worse the further North you go. Maybe it's just that Chimeras are nocturnal, and I tend to only operate during the day, despite getting third generation NVGs as quickly as possible?

As far as I remember, the first 3 chimeras I encountered were 1 in Truck Cemetery and 2 in Garbage. And all of these were during daytime. Perhaps the chance for chimeras to spawn at night is higher (and like you, I would also assume they appear more frequently further north), but it's definitely not a requirement.

My impression: The best areas to find them are the red forest and jupiter, esp. in the eastern part from the heli pad up to the cement factory in the north east. The red forest is a great hunting ground too since you can avoid direct attacks by dancing around the trees. If you travel those two maps, especially at night, the chance of coming across at least one of them should be close to 100%.

The really big maps like truck cemetary or darkscape should work to, but good look finding anything there. Finding a chimera is a lot harder than being found by one if you don't want to, lol.

Garbage: To the South East of the Flea Market, as well as maybe to the North of the acidic anomaly in the forest but I may be imagining that one.

Agropm: In the forest where there is a moving electrical anomaly, I think also going to Yantar near the swamps is another spawn.

Darkvalley: I am not sure, but near the forested areas I believe Pseudogiants as well as Chimeras can spawn.

Truck Cementery: This is a great place to get chewed by Chimeras

Red Forest: You WILL get chewed by Chimeras, shout out to the spawn point that is DIRECTLY on top of the gate leading into Red Forest... you either go through there or to the left into the Monoliths guarding the bridge.

Radar: I hate my life, I am never trying a night raid even if there will be less Monolith squads... It was an ironman run and there were two.

To the North? There are more spawns, but I haven´t reached there yet... damn chimeras.

The spawn point is not a big issue imo because you don't enter the map there. Usually, the monster is already waiting for you somewhere around the gate area (if it doesn't attack some NPCs first); if you enter from the south, you can easily kill all the wildlife from inside the old bus; if you entered from the east or north, you can use the trees as cover. Always worked pretty great for me. Most of the other spawn points are out in the open with no place to hide, which makes it very difficult even with a top of the line shotgun.

Truck Cemetery, northern edge, above the radioactive mounds, and eastern side, midway up the map, vaguely around the fence. Those two rough areas have weirdly common chimera spawns.

Pripyat - Enter from Radar and go down the hill, if there isn't one at the bottom of the hill follow the edge of the map to the Jupiter entrance. Otherwise enter from Jupiter, follow the egdge to the right. Also by the entrance to Outskirts. A couple of well placed stashes would work for quick trips.

Jupiter Underground is a good one after one pass, though I must warn you, it gets very dangerous and unpredictable after initial spawns are gone. If you play Ironman, it is the place to avoid. The safest place to find them I think is Truck Cemetery (often to the east of the map, found two one time). But as many already said, they have a much stronger tendency to spawn the farther north you go. I don't think I ever saw one in Cordon. It makes sense for them to be rare but have big reward and be very dangerous(though they are easily evasive, except in labs), makes one always alert. Controllers and Burers are also very profitable and not hard to kill.
