A mod pack that aims to not just return the English voice lines to the game, but to restore all variations of voices and fix voice lines for characters who do not speak English.

Hey again everyone!
So I will be honest, my workflow on this project died after I found out that someone re uploaded this addon without my permission or without even asking me first. When theirs became more popular I felt that the work I was putting into this was for nothing and that it wasn't worth it. As a result I gave up working on this addon. I spent a lot of time finding the correct files and adjusting the lines of code as needed for this addon to work properly. For those of you who care at all, which is probably very few, I've decided to just make v0.4 the last version and the full release of the addon, because I can't see myself dedicating more time to this after what has happened. So enjoy it. If this mod picks back up in popularity I may come back to it and do more work for it but for now I'm not adding any more factions. People have mentioned a full project to re voice all the lines in English, and while I believe it could be possible I just don't see myself dedicating time to that either right now. Once again if it picks up in popularity I may consider it. However, if you still happen to find any problems with this addon feel free to let me know and I will work on a fix if possible. For now though, that's all. Good hunting Stalkers.
----DESCRIPTION----
This mod seeks to change all of the NPC player directed voice lines in the game into the English versions. After finding a version of this mod that was lacking a lot of the lines, I decided to make one myself that also includes the environmental sounds and special characters, traders and etc. while also adding lines to factions that did not have any.
This mod also gives English voice lines to the Ecologists, and the Mercenaries. However, hostile NPC's and factions will still speak in Russian/Ukranian as they always have.
This pack also includes the English lines from traders, megaphones, special characters etc. that the Anomaly team created, I merely packed them in here so credit for the scenario sounds goes to them.
----INSTALLATION----
To install, simply click on the pack you want. The sounds have been separated into two packs. Then move the gamedata folder from inside one or both of the packs to the game directory and overwrite files when prompted. Simple!
----COMPATIBILITY----
This mod has new requirements for compatibility as it now changes files under configs\gameplay. Any other mods that edit these files will overwrite them. I suggest that you install this last so that these files will overwrite others. If not, then you will not get the full range of English voice lines that I am trying to implement.
QUICK NOTE: The gameplay files overwrite is not required for this mod to work, it will just not work to its full extent. If you are having issues with this mod then reinstall all your mods but do not overwrite files with this mod when prompted.

Oh no this is not a complete remake of the voice lines, this just takes the English voice lines from the original games and adds them back in.

Update: well... I liked not understanding the NPCs passive dialogue much better than this. The English voice dubs are just too goofy and out of place. The volume levels are a bit out of balance as well. This is not for me but I appreciate the concept and effort.
Yeah thats how its always been lol. The original games' English voice dubs were really bad hahaha. Nonetheless I made this mod for people who wanted the English lines back, like me.
I figured it was from the original games. Totally understandable! I only tried it in the rookie village, but as soon as Fanatic said "Hey man!!" in a hilariously mismatched voice I laughed heavily then uninstalled lol. I might have to give it a second chance just to see how Sid and Wolf sound...
Does it give Ashot his Clear Sky voicelines?
Not yet unfortunately. It is still a work in progress as all of the CoP characters (Beard, Owl, Loki, Hawaiian etc.) have their English voice lines, which is to be expected because the game is built off of CoP. I am in the process of importing the CS voice lines and getting them to work so I will update it as I fix stuff.
After enabling the mod whenever I open my PDA the game crashes.
What other mods do you have installed? Because this shouldn't affect the PDA at all. Make sure to check the compatibility requirements I added, but this mod should still work regardless of whether you overwrite the config files or not. It will just not work to its full extent.
does it conflict with desman's horror overhaul?
I have looked through the mod you mentioned and no it should not conflict. This mod edits character voices and some environmental sounds from Cordon, but none of the files conflict from what I can see.
So does it just replace the characters that are meant to speak English?
No it doesn't replace any characters. This mod brings back the English voice lines that were recorded for the original STALKER games back in 2008-2011. They had English voice acting for the western audiences, however Anomaly is set by default to use Russian/Ukrainian voice acting only.
so its saying in mo2 that the contents of this folder do not look valid anyway i can fix this?
Unfortunately I don't personally use the mod organizer. I assume that's what you mean. So I don't know if there's any way for you to fix it yourself. It probably requires me to add compatibility to it so that MO2 can detect it.
After using this, I'm sure many of us would be willing to band together and actually help make a full Voice Over for the game :')
It could be possible but don't know if I want to dedicate the time to that right now hahaha
hey, so can i delete some of the character_desc files and then only those factions will have english lines? I want my mercs and isg to speak english.
You can add only the merc files in to the game and it will only change their voices. I haven't updated the addon to include ISG though unfortunately as I've stopped working on this addon. Personally I would look for one of the addons that replaces merc and ISG voices with the merc from tarkov though if thats only what you are looking for.

I dont think this addon itself is compatible with MO2 according to other comments. I think it requires me to work some sort of patch into it to make it work but I am no longer updating this addon as I've noted before. If you still want to use it then copy paste the files but dont overwrite anything.

You will need to reinstall your mods. You've overwritten something from another mod that was important for making the game work properly. Make sure when installing this mod in future to not overwrite anything.
Having a bunch of red text come up on the console regarding clear sky voice files telling players to put weapon away. This also happens with another mod that restores english voices and it makes the game stutter. Any fix for this?
What did you do before/after installing this mod? What other mods did you install? Are you using the 1.5.2 patch?

You should not give up because a bunch of bozo copied your stuff. There is no way to prevent that, nor should you bother to try. At the end of the day you did this mod for yourself because you wanted the game to be more immersive for you. And if others copied it, this means your talents are that good and those copycats only wished to be epic like you! You should finish this masterpiece because your efforts will be recognized by those that truly acknowledge them!
