Simple mod that preserves one in the chamber ammo with non-empty reload if the gun has animation for it
While it mostly works fine and filters guns that cant have that feature, there might be an exceptions that can be triggered. You can report them in comments or you can edit one_in_the_chamber_blacklist.script file to exclude guns from that feature
Its incompatible with Mags Redux. If you have that mod installed, my mod will be automatically disabled

Hey, I love the idea, but it doesn't seem to work for me, it has no effect after reloading a non-empty gun.
And I don't use Mags Redux.
what gun you used?
and the gun has to have non empty animation and not be in blacklist. blacklist is not strict, if it has for example wpn_sks, then all sks'es will be excluded
I tried all kinds of assault rifles, pistols and SMGs, not a single one kept one after reloading, even if they have an animation of non-empty reload.
thats strange, i tested it with everything you mentioned. try to set debug_mode = true in one_in_the_chamber.script and check console. Of course you should have enough ammo in the inventory for preserving
I did that, there was nothing out of the ordinary in the console.
Is it possible that some other addon somehow breaks it? As I said, I don't use any mag or even re-animation addons, so that would be strange..

W-w-what??? You actually made it! OH GOD, FINALLY! IT'S GREAT FOR BLINDSIDES AND BAS! Now I'm waiting for addon or weapon pack, which adds tactical reload to ALL standard guns.
You can try installing AWAR mod (standalone or from DLTX pack), it adds to most vanilla guns tactical reloads
Is nice thing, but damn... downloading BaS and other big sized addons for that not my good choice, my internet will die if I try it.

maybe I'm just dumb, but is there any point in getting this if I use MagRedux? because there I enabled "one in the chamber" already, so I guess this won't do anything "on the top", right?

You should add all open-bolt weapons to the blacklist
These guns consist of

This is because the bolt picks up the round when the trigger is pulled, instead of storing it in the chamber.

I found an incompatibility with another addon "Mcm Key Wrapper". If you activate the key wrapper for the reload key this addon stops working
If only someone made at least a band-aid partial reload animations for other weapons it would be perfect. Can someone know is there a mod for that?
I unlocked the script for all non blacklisted weapons, but it still bugging me...
