The addon could use further playtesting. Let me know if you encounter any bugs.

You madman. You have actually done it. Playtesting will be a lot of fun. I'm assuming this addon is at least sensitive enough to avoid overwriting other dialogues?

My mind is racing. Keeping Strelok and Co alive was tough enough in CoC. The Eidolon fight is going to be hell now (then again, maybe Anomaly's damage model means I won't need Guy Fawkes' personal gunpowder stash this time around). And I'm probably going to love every second of it.

Hoping your work gets integrated in the next update!

Hey, thanks. Nice to know I've got some fans :)

I did do some preliminary balance changes but feedback is appreciated. Flying across the Zone with god mode on is good for playtesting whether the quests themselves work, combat is another thing.

Flying across the Zone with god mode is apparently how the Misery Devs did their testing. Would you recommend your other Anomaly addon to use alongside this?

Stalker Tweaks [Anomaly] says it makes damage "more realistic", but how would that compare to Anomaly? Would attacks hit harder overall? Softer? Or does it simply mean that hit location matters a lot more now?

Edit: Swapped a pronoun for a proper noun.

I was playtesting with the Tweaks on. They make NPC stalkers somewhat tougher, so you better aim for the head or close. They're slightly less accurate, though, and have a narrower FOV.

Alright, well so far I've only dipped my foot into the shallow end, but here's my take so far:

This mod and the Monster Relations/ Merc Neutrality addon do not go well together (read: may or may not crash your game), especially if (when) you encounter mutants and so forth.

So, after removing the Monster Relations/ Merc Neutrality addon, I continued on my merry way with LttZ.

I have to say, it's a flavorful mix. The premise of Anomaly is that you are no AAA videogame protagonist, just another guy trying to survive in the Zone (even on the easier progression settings, the enemies themselves are formidable). You may be an aspiring hero in SarisKhan's quest, but to the rest of the Zone you are still another piece of meat. The journey ahead will have its challenges and will test you. Depending on your faction you may even need to prepare disguises for parts of the quest. As a Mercenary, this means infiltrating the ranks of the Stalker community like the Spec-Ops agent you're supposed to be, eventually earning their goodwill enough to show your true colours.

The inclusion of an in-game guide also makes the quest for Strelok's knowledge feel more meaningful, although I have yet to see if obtaining it actually updates anything in the guide.

TL:DR Lots of fun so far, will see how it goes later.

Using this mod, I made a new game (using 1.40) as Clear Sky. The leader gives me a quest to find the doctor. I found him, and as everyone knows by now, he's always dead. I got the key and the documents, but the quest given by the Clear Sky leader is unfinished and I have no way of making it complete. Even talking with the quest giver does not let me say, "Doc is dead, but I found these on his body." or anything similar.

Perhaps you can figure out a way to let the quest chain continue? Or, does anyone know the spawn ID for the doctor? I looked in the debug spawn menu for over an hour and spawned 100's of npc but still without any luck. I want to continue this quest chain.

His character ID is mar_smart_terrain_doc_doctor, you might give that a try.

Anyway, I've uploaded a newer version of the addon. Now you can continue the storyline even if the Doctor's died before the dialogue by picking up his notes. Also included a few other additions, fixes and improvements.

Thanks for porting Lost to the Zone to Anomaly. If you need feedback or are just bored you can check this out.

Btw, did you change actor files, I seem to be going faster. Also Anomalies seem a lot more dynamic and spawns are more deadly. I've killed a Controller in the Dead City on day 1 where there are usually zombies only.

My addon only adds dialogues, quests and the storyline. I used vanilla Anomaly files to keep everything else unchanged. I've even made mercs and loners hostile again in the recent update because the disguise system provides an excellent opportunity for undercover work.

Anyway, good luck with the playthrough, I'll be watching it.

Another update, probably the last one until 1.5 release unless some major issue pops out in the meantime.

I was inspired by jackheretherealon's comment to actually let mercs stay hostile to loners by default. Dushman informs you about this issue, so loot a sunrise suit from a dead stalker and pretend you're their friend if you want to complete the storyline. Use the disguise option, of course.

Got the latest version + new game as loner and relations with mercs are neutral at -300. Do they go hostile after completing some quests? First time playing with this mod.

Pretty sure you've got the previous release then, they're back to being -2000 like in the base game in the most recent version.

Originally I made them 0 (later -300) so that you wouldn't auto-fail the storyline as a merc, but the built-in disguise system allows you to work undercover. This enhances the experience, IMHO.

Well then i must be retarded or moddb is screwing with me because i downloaded 1.4.9 for the fifth time now and game_relations always has the same -300 for stalker/merc relations

IMHO: mercs are basically foreigners in the zone, hired guns for specific missions. It makes sense that they're hostile to duty, military and even freedom (mercs are generally enigma). But loners? Loners should be neutral to everyone except bandits and monolith, which are hostile to everyone ... they're just unhappy folk with troublesome past, looking for something in the zone. Nobody takes them seriously, they are not organized to be danger to anyone.

I think I'll include both options in the end, so people will be able to choose. In the meantime, you might simply edit the game relations yourself.

Really great job on the mod,Saris! I really wanted the LTTZ stories to be in Anomaly.By the way...I just installed the newest version.Do I have to start a new game? I'm currently in Clear Sky and I'm planning to go to the North and it would be awful to start a new game.

Spoilers - I've come to the point where I'm in the outskirts and taking the three missions from strelok and co. I've done the missions and have come back to the laundromat but everyone either sitting eating sausage or leaning against the wall holding bread and nobody wants to bring up dialog options! I've tried getting them aggro'd, saving\loading, shooting them, nothing makes them want to speak with me. Most of the other stalkers there will talk to me however, just not the team. What do??

This is very nice, Anomaly is a well balanced an stable mod. Nice new mechanics (with all MISERY previous features...), nice textures, nice new models (with reshade a decent graphic results), and now with this addons, new history.

Hope you will keep this nice maintenance, also updating to 1.5.0 when it's done. Btw I can't understand why is not included in the 1.5.0 like another addons (yeah COC mods are nice but "all the same", history, lore is the hearth!).

I also read about you're thinking on make a new plot about Monolith. Could be nice to be a monolithian that some-how keeps mind not fully brainwhased (maybe you're converting when brainscorcher disables) and you could choose to step by step recover humanity.
The history could be for "veteran stalkers" and instead to "go-up" in the zone, go "down" (to first maps) and the re-up to finish (or reempower) Monolith :)

Monolith is a nice lore-thing explored very few.

A question, I saw in Lost Alpha that is possible to make some-kind of "ingame" cuts with camera movements, could be so nice for a plot, not only text and text. And some kind of intro like DUDKZ videos Youtube.com

After your wonderful Swamp Doctor being dead fix, things went smooth until I got the quest, 'Living Legend: Visit Barkeep' in Rostok 100 rads bar. I have tried doing his 'Important Documents' mission and selecting all of the dialog interaction options, but cannot have the quest be complete and progress further. I did not do any of his normal job quests, such as kill a target or those generic mutant hunting ones.

I am Clear Sky faction in this playthrough. I decided to complete the Miracle Machine in Yantar to see if that would trigger any further dialog with Barkeep, but it did not. Do I need to run the Lab X quests or the Brain Scorcher before the Living Legend quest can move forward?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+3 votes

Weird, especially considering that Clear Sky was the faction I chose to do the playtesting. The opening line of this particular quest is "Hello. I've got a question. Did by any chance a stalker named Strelok stop by the Bar not that long ago?". The dialogue should trigger the next quests.

Maybe try loading an earlier save and talk with him again? I know that sometimes such things don't trigger for whatever reason.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm way too deep into the story to try a saved game prior to obtaining the quest. I have tried your latest version, but still no success. The only mods I'm using are 'Thermite grenade fix' and 'Exoskeleton helmet protection fix' (not the new one which lets the exo have a helmet). I will give it another try by trying to do his generic quests.

Do you think I have to have some reputation with Duty? Or, should I do Brain Scorcher, then check again? Or, do I have to try the Arena one time? Or, is there any problem if I meet X first, then it's bugged with the Barkeep? I had taken the guide to Jupiter and talked with all those guys in the station and the mobile science lab prior to getting the 'Visit the Barkeep' quest, but I can't see how that would affect anything.

I am also having the same problem. I did load a saved game before getting the documents to try again. After I got the docs and took them to Barkeep I still couldn't get the required dialog line.
