This mod adds the Japanese battle rifle HOWA Type 64 to Stalker Anomaly. As a tier 0 weapon it does not come with any attachments nor scopes. It's just a good 'ol battle rifle, doing what battle rifles are supposed to do: shooting big holes in targets.
The Howa Type 64 Battle Rifle (Roku-yon-shiki-jidou-shoujuu), is a Japanese battle rifle used exclusively by the Japan Self-Defense Forces and the Japanese Coast Guard.
It is a gas-operated, selective fire weapon which is chambered for the 7.62x51mm NATO round and uses a detachable 20-round box magazine. The Type 64 has never been exported due to Japan's strict anti-hardware export laws. It has been superseded by the more advanced Howa Type 89 from 1989 to 1990, but is still in service with all branches of the Self-Defense Forces and the Japanese Coast Guard.
The JGSDF's Oita Prefecture garrison had encountered supply problems when they were not able to account for 30 Howa Type 64s that had been lost, despite a massive search conducted by 95,000 soldiers on January 24, 2007. One can only speculate where they landed. But in one corner of the sport center's basement there are pieces of an old wooden crate with Japanese marking on it...
Now comes also with a M84 scope, that it will later shared with the M1 Garand (to be published later)
Made some custom anims for the scoped version to avoid clipping with the scope.
The mod includes the magredux option.
For those experiencing issues with the high definition icons, simply delete the following file:

True! The gun was supposed to replace the M1 Garand they had.
The first prototypes, known as the R1 and R2, are based on the shape and features of the Armalite AR-10. Another prototype, known as the R3, is based on the M14 with a curved magazine. From feedback, another prototype known as the R63E was used as the basis for developing the Type 64.

Thanks! Well tbf, the only optic that was/is on the gun irl is a 2.2x magnification scope and may either be a surplus M1C/D sniper rifle M84 scope used by the U.S. Military during World War II or a similar model produced by Nikon that replicates the M84's magnification levels.
So that's that. I also did not have any good model of either the mount nor the M84 or Nikon. If I find one, I might post an update XD

edit 1: Hello Lunatic, I have a small problem with the weapon icon, maybe it's because I use DX8 but the weapon looks super big and out of place in the inventory.

edit 2: I made a patch for Demonized's Weapon Cover Tilt, since the weapon was positioned too low when using a wall as cover, I leave the link in this comment in case you want to add it in a future update.

Hi, it's true, I did not mention that the HQ icons might look slightly odd on DX8/9. Xmas is coming soon, so now you know what to wish for so you can join us all in DX11... XD

Simple fix is to make sure your texture/icon files have a resolution by powers of 8 like say 512x512, 1024x1024, 4096x4096, etc.
It does make things a little weird since the icons in STALKER use 50x50px squares but Dx8 and Dx9 dont like icon files that are the exact icon size :|
Yeah I know. The high def icon I use is a script-based icon replacer.
But I'll try to add a few transparent pixels to see if that does the trick

Ah it's a weird gun and we all know that 85% of the weird **** is coming from Japan, so I am well in line with it then XD.
But you're right, the anim could be better. I am no animator, so if anybody want's to take a shot at it, I am a taker for a new set of anims!

These are edited blindside ak anims. All in all, he did a good job bring a rare gun into the zone and the crunch factor on it is a 10/10

That gun is really nice! Always loved unique guns, and this one is really mix of my 2 favourite guns too: fal and mg42.. and even from Japan? This is what I understand! Interesting, does they have something like that, like most WW1 guns.

I know you replied on the other mod already, yet I am still curious why you don't see it (and by the looks of it, you seem to be the only one so far). Do you have any special inventory mods or scripts running? Any special UI mod?
Can you make a screenshot how it looks? Is it just the dark blue 'missing texture' rectangle?
