Is "Quality over Quantity" your motto? Then you might like this mod; removes the ugly STALKER model variety.
___________
DESCRIPTION
___________
Less Ugly Variety, LUV for short I suppose.
This is a simple mod that, instead of adding new variety or whatever, it removes some.
Why? Because it is disgustingly ugly and low-quality in comparison to everything else.
Or, in short; Quality over Quantity.
As an example; Bandit Jacket on Monolith, badly-retextured Mercenary Spetsnaz suit, Clear Sky with Milstalker suit (despite the fact CS-3 should be similar if not identical), barely-retextured Milstalker Bandit, etc etc
___________
INSTALLATION
___________
You have two to choose, either the Default one or "No Metro". See details on what it removes.
Simply extract the "gamedata" folder into your STALKER Anomaly directory.
No new game required, can safely uninstall too.
Do expect some "old" variants still available in your old save though, but the moment you make them disappear (like kill them) is the moment they turn extinct.
___________
COMPATIBILITY
___________
The mod will conflict with anything that changes any of the "character_desc_general_x" files.
Making a merge is possible and easy though.

FEEDBACK/CONTACT
___________
If you got suggestions for which model would be best to remove, because it's low-quality, doesn't fit the lore, seems out of place and all that jibba-jabba, do make so by posting a comment in the mod's comment section.

COPYRIGHT
___________
There's none.
These are config files changed from Anomaly itself, so whatever license Anomaly has, that is it.
In short; you can do whatever the heck you want with this. Credits aren't even necessary, but accepted as a sign of respect.
There's a very high chance I might have forgotten a model or two.
If that's the case, do tell me which please.
Make sure you also tell me which version you are using, Default or "No Metro" and the like.

UPDATE 1:
- Added "No Metro" option.
(Install one or the other)

Not bad, perhaps. In terms of cutting out models using armored vests of the army in other factions.
Although personally I think it would be worthwhile to first remove the NPC models that use gas masks, helmets and body armor clearly not from the Stalker lore, but rather from Metro 2033. It is these models that really hurt the eye and cause headaches.
It's a pity there is no add-on that would implement all the visuals of the NPC from the Shadow of Chernobyl into "Anomaly". And so that there is an obvious difference between loners and bandits (for beginners).
That would be cool too.
Totally agreed. Removal of Metro assets and return of some models from SHoC would be just grand.
Not a bad idea, I can't do anything about adding ShoC models because I don't have that skill, but I can remove the somewhat unfit Metro models.
I don't like them much myself either.
I'll put this on the plans
can you make something for mutants too? For example, we only see in this game the chimera with misery texture, but what about the zombie chimera,or call of pripyat chimera version? A variety for mutant models would be good too.
I'll think about it.
Good addon, will help me to distinguish enemies because I prefer to play without cursor, Had a lot of teamfire moments because I couldnt distinguish properly with binoculars..
Generally, I like armour variety, but the way STALKER Anomaly handles it is kind of dumb. By taking armour that was once worn exclusively by one faction, reskinning it, and giving it to another faction often just makes it difficult to to distinguish friend from foe. It's especially a problem with Duty and Bandits. The Duty soldiers with black trenchcoats look almost identical to bandits. Imagine my surprise when I shot some bandit looking mofo, only for that "bandit" to turn out to be a Duty soldier that thought it would be funny to run around the battlefield cosplaying as the enemy.
It also takes away from some of the uniqueness of factions. The Mercenaries for instance, are supposed to be a NATO affiliated faction, which is why they usually wield Western European and American made weaponry and wear an outfit that is effectively a combination of a British SAS uniform with a US Army gasmasks. Ukrainian/Russian military uniforms kind of takes away from that unique look and isn't very lore friendly.
Bro, does the mod completly remove them form the game or it's just unobtainable for the npcs? I really hate all those metro references in gear and I want them gone. If your mod doesn't do this, maybe you know another one that does?
Only removes NPCs.
Don't know any mod that removes Metro gear, sadly.
Windows 10 Defender hates this archieve by some reason.
Sounds like it needs some cyber-antihistamines then.
