Resting for 15-30 in-game minutes on each save, with fade out animation. Better Campfire Saving gamemode - only lit campfires are availible to save, saving radius increased.
This mod is for Campfire Saving mode only
This mod is for any gamemode, and works both with quick and main menu saves.
When saving happens, you will rest for 15-30 in-game minutes (screen fades out), and then game will save. So, you'll have to think about food and time if you save too often.
If you're playing with Campfire Saving mode:
Now, to save game, you must first light up the campfire. Make sure you have matches on you, or use stalker camps with lit campfires to save.
Campfire saving radius is also increased, you don't have to stand in the fire to save anymore, yay!
Changelog:
v. 2:
- Renamed mod to "Immersive Saving"
- Fixed (i hope) compatibility with any save-altering gamemodes, including Agony and Timer saves.
- Mod now works outside Campfire Saving mode, but still alters it to require lit campfires
Game version: 1.5.1
Installation: drop to gamedata or use Mod Organizer 2
Compatibility issues: unknown, may interfere with any campfire-related mods or mods with additional custom savegames. Let me know if it happens.
Warning: mod WILL save the game again after the animation (to the same slot), cause it's how it works to keep compatibility with all gamemodes. It's normal.

Bonfire lit.
Finally! Thank you! Was always worried why does the game give me matches when I can just save near non-lit campfires
Enjoy
Does that mean that I can save the game without roasting my balls? You are better than the Monolith!!!!
Yes, but make sure you have matches on you to light up the fire
I'm playing with Agony mode too and it's kinda weird that you try to save and you don't know that you're in a fight, the animation and the time still passes, but still, it doesn't save
I didn't test it with Agony mode. Thanks for the bug report, i'll try to fix it.
Fixed it now, let me know if something's broken
Hi there hardstuph. Is it possible to redesign this addon to where it can add toggles in the game option menus that change certain features of this addon? Examples being if it affects quick saves, main menu saves, the passage of time with fade out and possibly a slight health regeneration buff from another addon I seen. (I saw another modder experimenting with such. Maybe you can put your heads together and create a immersive save and campfire compilation.)
Hey, i think it's totally possible, maybe i'll try to do it later
Hey there Hardstuph, first I'd like to say thank you for your mod, finally we get proper campfire saving, quick question, everytime I save my volume goes to 0 for both ambient and music and I have to manually put it back to where it was, I checked your script and I found this (line 23 to 26)
get_console():execute("snd_volume_music "..tostring(_G.mus_vol))
get_console():execute("snd_volume_eff "..tostring(_G.amb_vol))
_G.amb_vol = 0
_G.mus_vol = 0
Is this required for the mod to work?
Hello
Lines 23-26 are actually supposed to put your volume levels back where it was. Muting is happening on lines 35 and 36.
No, it's not required, and it actually should put volume back after saving. (at least it does in my tests)
It's tampering with sound to mute all game sounds when there's blackscreen.
I have the same problem, how can I fix this so that I don't have to change the volume every save?
You go into the "zzz_immersive_campfire.script" and edit following lines (add -- before the text):
--get_console():execute("snd_volume_music 0")
--get_console():execute("snd_volume_eff 0")
I also have the problem with the mod muting my sound
I'm having an issue where I save at a campfire, then time passes into the middle of a emission, trapping me in a death loop because I'm too far from safety. Is this a known bug?
