Hello mate the addon works as intended but there's a small problem, your files somehow repositioned left handed devices like artefact detectors to the very left, like almost at the edge of the screen and messes up the ADS transition when holding them.

holding a Veles without using your addon: Imgur.com

I would like to tweak it myself but I'm inexperienced and probably wouldn't be able to fix it, nevertheless its a great addon, keep up the good work!

Oh that is odd. Could you delete this mod and see if its this mod causing it? I don't have much experience either, I really just changed a few numbers to increase the light distance.

Lol, i was wondering where that's from. I'm playing with multiple mods but it was a minor issue for me to go back and check every mod to see which one causes it.

Can confirm that it's this mod, just checked.

Maybe they changed the ltx file in the last update and you adapted an older file which could have different values for the other parameters?

Ohhh I see know haha - yeah it is an older ltx file that I was using for 1.5 RC18 or something so that could be it! I never noticed because it was the first thing I did before starting a game.

This addon of yours changes the zoom of the detectors. I saw that you changed the number not only of the flashlights but also of the detectors. The only change you should have made was in the following lines for the two flashlight devices:

range = 50
range_r2 = 50

You can fix the file, or I can help you. Changing the zoom number of the detectors was unnecessary.

Sure, what lines of text need to be adjusted? I just realised that the ltx file I was using was from RC18 and I never played vanilla 1.5.1 - just auto put this one in.

Just go to the file item_devices.ltx.

After opening the file, navigate to the flashlight and torch section, then find the lines:

range and range_r2

Remember to change the range to 50 and range_r2 to 50 in the two sections "Flashlight and Torch"

Only these adjustments.

If in doubt, call me in Private.

Well if you're talking about the default file, you can't get to it without extracting from the .db files first.
Which i tried but i dont know how to do.

Ok guys, I have uploaded a new ltx that should hopefully fix the detector issues - please let me know if it works, I am at work currently and cannot actually test it, but the ltx is from the 1.5.1 build and the only changes made were to the range for both the headlamp and hand held torch

Can confirm it works as intended.
Range is extended and Detector HUD is normal.
Thank you!

Using MO2, it shows up as having two gamedata folders. Are they identical?

Thanks! I ended up going with 31 for the headlamp and 61 for the flashlight, this puts the headlamp at just over 100ft and the flashlight at just over 200ft. If only there was a way to account for a full battery giving more distance/light and a near-dead one being weaker overall.

For flashlight angle, it's the spot_angle value in the file for this addon, night_light.ltx.

To unpack that "Modern Headlamp" addon, if you rename the file to 1.db0 and put it in the "db" folder next to the converter.exe and convert_unpack.bat file, double clicking those in some order should get you the file.

It shows that the file modified is the same one as your mod. It's the spot_angle value. The addon changed it from 60 to 90. It had a different color profile, too (and 50m distance).
