Would be cool if they used it like in Far Cry 2. A squad in trouble shoots one at the sky and another squad of the same-friendly faction comes to help.

Nice concept you got there, reminds me of the Glowstick's add-on, unfortunately the game crashes whenever I try to fire a VOG flare grenade, and this was the argument/error that the game threw at me after CTD'ing:

I play on DX10 (non-AVX) and use Arti's Ballistics which is probably the one making the game have a stroke, and yes I did delete shader cache after installing the add-on (no idea if that helps or not).
get_grenades(...) is a function of vanila Amomawy. Find which addons that **** it up. Search for get_grenades or item_weapon in gamedata/scripts/
Some of your addons are outdated or poorly made. Find if there is "wuut mags patch".

There are fools who steal work from other addons and make modpacks. Their crap keep failing and ruin people's save files. They rate down other addons so that their modpacks can look good. How pathetic.
By not using modpacks, you are doing good for the community and save your sanity.
by not using modpack you are proving you can assemble a modpack of your own that would fit whatever you want instead of trading your comfort for a lazy "plug and play" feature

call me greedy, BUT, maybe think of making an actual flare gun as a separate weapon from grenade launchers?
It was a concept initially. But I realized that it is inconvenient to carry yet another piece of equipment. The handgun slot can carry pistols, small shotguns, small SMGs, and people are asking for more. A flare gun might be the last thing they want to put there.
While it's true that the handgun slot is very busy, a standalone flare gun would be very neat, specially for when using a weapon without an underbarrel grenade launcher at night (such as one of the BaS tacticool rifles)
Don't know if you're still active on the modding scene, but i hope you consider following up on that initial concept (though it sounds like quite the amount of work lol)

Just a scripted event. The flare in Limansk will go up anyway. No one shoots it.
Beside, stalkers and mutants don't interact with light. The flare is actually to help the player to see the enemy in combat and immersive gameplay. Because, sure, who will question if it actually works?

dont get me wrong its a good mod but it would be better if it actually worked without needing someone to wipe their whole modlist for it to work
i get the same crash "get grenades" tried looking thru scripts but i dont think any of them is here. see nothing of "get_grenades, Or Itm_"
Search your addons list, look for what that change item_weapon.script.
It's a function from vanila anomaly and I don't change it.
And make sure to update the game to Amomawy 1.5.2.
So, if I wanted to use these in the launchers added by weapon mods like, say, Boomsticks and Sharpsticks, would I just the weapon name example (wpn_ak12_bas) to the mod_system_flare.ltx file?

Tried it about a half-hour earlier. CTD as soon as I hit the fire key, but the logs didn't give me any type of FATAL ERROR message. It's odd.
Only apply for weapons that have underbarrel grenade launchers. Might not work with weapons that shoot grenades as normal shooting mode.
Like those that have it integrated or as an attachment? Because the BaS AK-12 in question has its GP-25 as an attachment.
Context: I put in just that one weapon in the ltx file simply to test the idea. This allowed the flare grenade to show up in the ammo wheel and thus be loaded; I switched to the launcher, aimed, hit the fire button, and crash.
I don't know if the other ltx files or scripts need to be touched, or if I simply have to touch the ltx files of the weapons added by BaS as well as flare mod's ltx.
EDIT: an initial look suggests that each ltx file has its allowable ammo on the grenade_class line. Would I have to go in each file and add the flare ammo type to get it to work?
