The stand-alone mod S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly aims to be the most stable and customizable experience for fans of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. It's powered by the Monolith 64-bit engine, a custom fork of the X-Ray engine.
A brand-new system for dynamic combat music, separate from the base ambient music system.
[Update v3 3-28-24: added some new tracks from Paranoia mod, updated description, attempted to fix weird audio stutter glitch]
[Update v4 3-29-24: added some new tracks from Trepang2, F.E.A.R. 1, Call of Duty: Black Ops 1, and Bloodrayne]
[Update v5 3-31-24 or 4-1-24 I guess cuz it took so damn long to upload and I did this right before I went to sleep LMAO: fixed bad source rate problems on all tracks, added some new tracks from Black Mesa]
[Update v6 4-27-24 added some more tracks from Barotrauma, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Entropy Zero 2, SWAT 4, Silent Hill, No More Room In Hell, etc]
Introduces a completely new system for playing combat music, which is entirely separate from the base game's music system. This mod comes with no ambient music, so you are advised to use your own dynamic ambient music. I suggest a volume of 0.3 or 0.5 on your volume slider. Dynamic music option IN THE SETTINGS MENU is not required for this mod to work, and in fact may cause issues (it's only been lightly tested. Dynamic music option in settings menu causes issues in GAMMA either way, so 100% leave that off if you're playing that. And, yes, this mod is fully compatible with GAMMA/EFP).
This mod is based on the original Moddb.com by Gabriel MacClay. It had not been updated in a while, and it was also incompatible with ambient music mods. This approach fixes that.
This combat music mod comes with about 159 tracks, split into "heavy" and "light" combat, based on number/power level of the enemy you are fighting. Each track has been hand-picked for atmosphere and tension, coming from games such as STALKER itself, Metro, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and so on. It is sure to fit an intense gun battle, horrific mutant encounter, or climactic quest finale all the same. Samples of songs used below:
This is super awesome, I've been waiting for a rework on that mod for so long. I might try to change some soundtracks here for Half-Life PARANOIA soundtracks, they're pretty good and fitting for combat incase you haven't heard them before. Great mod.
hello good sir, I have a question, I would like a specific theme to sound, for example a theme to sound when entering a laboratory, is it possible to achieve something like that?
As far as map specific tracks go, the default ambient music system that comes with stalker has a system for this. As for activating music for a specific event or enemy type, well, not sure. No-one has done that yet.
I'm playing with EFP 4.2 and having problems with this. All I get is some distorted stutter. What settings do I have to disable or change to make it work?
Is it working better at least? It could be a flaw with the system itself, in which case... well, I wouldn't be able to do much about it. I only revised this system, not invented it.
Although I'm playing with GAMMA, I'm also experiencing strange distorted stuttered noises - like if I pull my detector out near an artifact, or if notification sounds play, the sounds stutter consistently until I go to the main menu or open my inventory. I don't believe the intended music and sounds are playing either when I enter combat.
OH. THAT bug. Yeah I've been getting that too, namely it likes to make these weird stuttering PDA beep noises, and sometimes I get these split second cut sounds of like... mutants in the distance, teleporting in my ear. So it seems like this script is the cause, in which case, I'll take a look. The problem is probably that it keeps trying to play a blank sound file, since that's the only way I got the dynamic combat music to work with the ambient music. I'll mess with it and see if I can fix it.
Hmm... some Trepang2 OST is not a bad choice. I don't think I put any of that in. I know I put some F.E.A.R. 2 and 3 tracks in. Speaking of F.E.A.R., I wonder if some F.E.A.R. 1 and expansions tracks will fit, too. It does have that action-military-horror vibe.
So i just downloaded the mod and i couldn't not notice the 1.70gb file size. Will you do a lite version, or rather a way to store the audio via compression (like what the original games do with files) ? For now i will just cut and leave my favorite tracks from this pack.
I am a bit busy with life matters and wanting to get new mods out the door, so I probably won't make any variants or lite versions, but feel free to release and remix your own, I will not send any C-CON agents to assassinate you or anything.
So I tried updating the mod, but I'm still experiencing the strange noises. I'm also using Arrival, so I wonder if that may be conflicting? Not entirely sure what else it could be.
Yeah, at this point I'm pretty sure it's just the way the system is designed. I reduced the amount of stutters somewhat, but to get rid of them completely would require a complete rewrite I think.

****! Why didn't I think of that...
I'm gonna go ahead and add Paranoia and Paranoia: Savior combat tracks. That's a damn good idea.
Glad you loved the idea lel, then I'll just wait until you add them incase I mess anything up, ty my dude.

that's right good man, I want there to be a specific track for a specific map, for example the X-18 lab.

Is "dynamic music" setting enabled? If it is, try turning it off.
If possible, please send me a video or audio sample if you can.
hmm. It seems that the latest version fixed it. Good job man. Love it
Wait. After a few minutes of gameplay, stuttering comes back.

So yeah, I'm not sure if there's a specific spot you're meant to throw this in via MO2, but I just kinda have it shoved near the bottom of my list.

Gotcha. No worries man, just glad to share some feedback and see what can be done. Thank you for your work!
If i can somehow put trepang2 OST over this it would be sick.
"Operation Bright Star" and "Escaped Subjecte" are quite fitting imo

Oof. Alright lol.
I support, the sound is distorted, everything is cracking
Latest version works for me now. I guess the stuttering is due to the wrong bit rate of the audio files
Can confirm, the music seems to be working for me now as well with this latest version!
