The stand-alone mod S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly aims to be the most stable and customizable experience for fans of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. It's powered by the Monolith 64-bit engine, a custom fork of the X-Ray engine.

Description

After many hours of playing in blender, I finally done it. New knife animations and one handed bolt edit for people that feel nostalgic about vanilla STALKER Call of Pripyat. Also includes my lowered axes tweak. Now with new pistol sprint animations!

Your knives wobble around in your hand just a bit right before you start walking. Small nitpick. :-)

I know ^^;
I'm still unhappy with how this looks, but I hear that next Anomaly version will fix the detectors being tied to weapon animations. If everything works as planned I might re-release my old take on this mod.
Youtube.com
These look a lot better and it was a lot easier to make them, but in result they made detectors and flashlights bug out when you held the knife.

Until then I'll keep practicing in Blender and try to reduce the wobble.

I love that ones, wonder if there can be multiple animations for each knife? Let's say, holding the combat knife like in SoC, and the hunting knife like on your video. I don't know if im explaining well right here, but it feels like holding the same way every knife gets boring as they dont have reloads, or anything that gives them extra animations.

PS: im not english and my brain is struggling after 36h without sleep. pls no haterino

Interesting :) Just out of curiosity, would that be the way to go if you'd like to introduce animations for other items, like stimpacks, bandaging, etc? Basically what Gunslinger does...but might be too much work to "port" or merge with Anomaly, since GS hooks into by its own exe.

Wish it was that simple. GUNSLINGER uses hand meshes that have increased bone count. Trying to use GUNSLINGER anims on old hand bone count is asking for a disaster...
So as much as I'd like it to be possible, it would be probably easier to make your own anims for that. And I'm no animator by all means.

That's exactly what I meant - creating new animations, similar to those, that are provided by gunslinger. I just wanted to know if this would be right technic to do it (using Blender for anims creation)

Ah, in that case yeah, blender should be a good tool to make these animations.

could you make the knife be similar to the knife from gunslinger?
or is that to much

Do note the Gunslinger knife is held upside down. I'd have to make entirely new animations to make a similar animation, and at that point it's probably easier to make new animations.
Since my animating skills are pretty amateurish I'll probably pass that one until I feel good with my abilities.

it's more difficult make new animations to healing or use stimpacks and healing items? like gunslinger

Hi there,
I am surprised that all modders who deal with animation and focus on more realism,
apparently have never dealt with the fact that as a stalker when walking normally,
the weapon is not very realistic in your hands.
I mean, who's always running around at gunpoint.
That has always bothered me.
Couldn't you change the animation so that you hold
the gun like the stalkers you meet?
Because that's a lot more realistic.
They are right in front of them and not always ready.
It would be very nice if someone would take care of it.

I could do that, but there is only one problem.
There would be pretty bad snapping between hip firing and idle animations if you'd do that. Not to mention some guns depend on idle animation for aiming, which would require me to include pretty invasive rotation changes in configs, which would break as soon as you'd fire a shot since normal shoot animation has different rotation.

In my opinion waiting for next Anomaly update will be more worth it. They already included new holster mechanic to the game.

Huh, yes sounds difficult.
I imagine it like this. The animations themselves are not changed, just that you add something before the actual animation.
Example when walking: you have the gun in front of you like the other stalkers in
the third person view.
With a right click on the mouse button you switch to the current standard view.
Then you can shoot from the hip.
With a right click again you get into the target mode. It has to be done somehow.
I'm curious if the Anomaly developers will do that. But probably not.
Maybe I will have to take the time to learn something like this at some point.

Hey bro if I need your help! Could you port this animations to dead air if possible? I really like this mod and it compliments my pistol addon here so well!

Does this work on the anomaly beta version? Really nice animations by the way.

Sorry for late reply. None of my mods as of right now are compatible with RC releases of Anomaly. In most cases though only requirements to make them compatible is moving animation omfs that contain "hands" in the name to the now universal "anomaly_weapons\hud_hand_animations" and merging the ltx files with the RC versions.
I will release an update once the final version is released.

The pistol animation wont work does it work on 1.5.1? The only other animation addon I have is the food, drugs, and drinks addon.

bruh if this isn't even compatible with RC versions then it is definitely not gonna work on 1.5.1. Get his 1.5.1-compatible stuff here: Moddb.com
