Medicine/drugs now give addiction, addiction gives penalties, simple as that ;]
Description:
First version with just basics. In two words: different medicine give different values of addiction. Addiction reduce max health and stamina (for now) to the max of 66% for both.
Besides of addiction, using drugs gives you "temporary" hp/stamina boost up to 100% until it evaporate (some more some less). Higher level of addiction requires you to use stronger drugs to keep health and stamina as high as possible.
Addiction reducing by 1% every 2 hours (same when sleeping).
Temporary boost reducing by 15% every hour, but it's very easy to "keep it high" by using drugs. Side effects are ofc increase in addiction which isn't that easy to get rid of ;]
Display chem addiction level by holding "H", not to make 50 compatibility patches I left the button in script, just open it with any text editor and you will see a comment at the top on what to change if you want to use some other hotkey.
Small note: You might wanna play with .ltx values and change them to your taste, because right now they don't look very good/realistic. I tried to make them more balance-wise for the game.

I'd say I need to expand and polish this one first.
(But I don't see why it won't be compatible right now...)
Since we already went the dark path, I also think it should be combined with proper disease system and medicine overhaul, so most of them won't be useless ;]
This added to BHS as togglable features would be neat, it's just way too much work.

my lucky day :D another great addon i was asking myself why game tips say stay healthy and avoid drugs why if they don't have some Serious side effects Now make sense with that addon I also don't like how uncooked food works when you eat you get radiation effects. You are supposed to be infect poison and disease when you eat that bad food, not radiation, because you are not supposed to eat radioactive food, because it will be more deadly as well as water. anyway i'll be wait for realistic update . i'm very interested with that addon .

I don't think there will be any "realistic" updates, because I couldn't think of anything like that. Hard to do that in game while keeping the balance, I decided to go with just some arbitrary formula for item addiction values :shrug:

i like "vision problems". i guess it would be possible to include a greater aimshake on severe stages of detox? suggestion: movement-speed debuffs. and i'd love a "nervous twitch" feature tho i have no idea myself how to include that.

I already tweaked it for myself, and overall, addictions are very low on almost anything that doesnt induce some kind of sedative effect ( like psy protection, wich basically works like some kind of muscle relaxant or whatever) , or highs, like cocaine, etc.
Also, caffeine tablets and painkillers/ morphine can be addictive.

edit: forgot to say, recreative drugs are way more effective at creating addiction with way less doses, like cocaine. Painkillers, etc. have a very slow value ( and you need a lot of time consuming to create some kind of addiction), as I usually consume a lot while playing because Grok's BHS makes it basically a must) so makes sense I guess.

But they are addictive in addon.
People eat meds in this game like candies, I was focusing on how majority plays it. For example 1 booster + 1 antirad + 2 army medkits = already 10% of addiction, this will need 20 in-game hours to drop back to 0... not sure how it's low.
Im still playing with the values anyways, theres probably a lot more things to play with, but as said, this is the one that fits my gameplay. Anyways, removed medkit thingie but kept the Rebirth value because Rebirth is Rebirth and u know

This can be a death sentence for your character if you dont keep checking on it periodically.

Will there be any diseases addon in the game like fever from bitten by mutant, how you get diarrhea from eating something, getting poison by smelling something (would be a good idea to add toxic smoke grenade) etc. since you've been modding about meds and what not. much much detail about health concern based on real life would be awesome. thou, its pain in the S to learn all those Sh*t.
If you find me a disease specialist, yes. I don't really want to spend my time in wiki learning medicine and then trying to implement it to game, considering game specifics and balance ;]

Quite interesting concept here.
Older mods like OGSE/OGSR for Shadow of Chernobyl had stuff like this but never got replicated in other mods until now, this is nice.

Nah, it's simply increases addiction the more (and how often) you use medicine and cap your health and stamina once addiction is high and you didn't eat drugs for a long time xd

Is this a mod you plan to revisit or is it dead in the water? This is a mod that looks like it has tons of potential especially with all the drugs floating around in the zone.
Was in plans, but then I had ideas for better addons and moved on. Honestly, this addon is the only one I don't use and it was made on request, so don't think I'll update it, sorry ;[

Hey, I think your addon could become the basis for an interesting idea. As you know, regeneration takes a long time, but in the game it is enough to devour a first aid kit for your health to be fully restored. It would be impossible to make it so that after being wounded, a penalty is imposed on maximum health depending on the strength of the wound, which goes away over time.
