Much Like my addon for beard this serves a similar purpose of making Bar keeper stand out more. He is no longer just merely a barman but now a small trader who provides some basic gear for your travels.
Hello again! This is the second in a series of a few trader changes that I wanted to implement to this great mod. Much like I already said this serves the purpose of making Barkeeper stand out a little more. It gives you a little more options for making money but also makes barkeeper feel a little more unique than his base game version. He still sales drinks and what not so don't worry he's still your favorite barkeeper!
Update: A simple update that adds an alternative version of Barkeeper more similar to his SOC version with all of the guns and weapons to match.
Update Features
If You like there is an Alternative version of the Barkeeper. The following is the changes that are made to his stock. Take note that this will be compatible with a Sid trader overhaul coming very soon as well and is made to compliment that file.
- Barkeeper will sale a wide range of weapons of various quality.
- Barkeeper will now sale Sunrise Suits and their variants. Barkeeper will have these outfits removed from him.
- In addition he will sale a few more items similar to Sid like PDA's and headlamps.
Features
- First off, barkeeper will buy cooked mutant meat for the best prices in the zone! Meaning that you can trade any food you make with him and get a decent profit off of it if you like. It gives you another option to make a little bit of money.
- Secondly, he has been given a number of new items for sale.
- He now sells a few basic pistols for a little cheaper than other traders would sell them. This of course includes their ammo.
- He will sell some cooking equipment now including a little bit of fuel.
- He has also been given artifact hunting items such as the echo and bear detector as well as artifact containers (NOT lead containers however).
- He has been given a few of the basic attachable items for the belt such as a camelback and additional armor plating.
- And finally he has been given basic medkits and bandages.
The point of this addon is not to make him the go to trader but rather to give a little more options to how you can make money or even save money.
Questions
- If you have any questions or issues with the addon please do state such in the comments I am usually very good and responding quickly during the weekdays.
Anyhow, as always... Hey Marked One!
Would you perhaps change all the available traders in the future to make the games economy feel more grounded or dynamic?
I'm actually working on one that is going to make overhauls to most traders with the exceptions of non-loner traders. Through I may include a change for the ecologist as well but yes I am planning on such.
Do you think you could make an alternative version that makes him the same barkeep we know from Shadow of Chernobyl?
I'll probably upload an alternative version fairly soon for those who want him to sell LOTS of gear rather than a few items. So yeah I probably will mate!
Is it OK to overwrite trade_presets.ltx from the Beard addon with this one?
Yes, the preset file was more added as a way to give people that file who have not unpacked the entire game. The other file in the presets called trade_discounts is also compatible with the Beard addon.
However, if you haven't already I did an update to the Beard addon file that I believe I changed a little which I know is compatible with this addon on. So if you haven't check it Out!
Excellent work! Anomaly is excellent, it has a level of difficulty that makes it captivating and dynamic. However, it would be excellent to have an addon that allowed to increase the carry weight, could you do it? Or could you tell me how to change the weight? Of course, thank you very much and congratulations for your work.
Thank you! If You want to adjust the carry weight in the pause menu while playing a game there should be something called options (extra) in there is something called game play difficulty. One of the options is the ability to change the carry weight. It only applies to the game you are playing and can only be adjusted while playing.
Is it possible to have Barkeep (or other major traders) recharging your electrical gadget, say, overnight for a fee? I mean, he does have a stable source of electricity in 100 Rads.
I don't really buy into that battery stuff, I'd even say that I prefer the UPD thingy from Misery. Not sure how much of a hassle it would be to mod.
are you still with us?
