I was quite unsatisfied with how poorly Azazel-mode get's treated in Anomaly.
So I made a few tweaks of my own to make it harder, but also a lot fairer!
- Everytime you die, your gear is GONE! No body is there to recover
I made this change because Azazel-corpses are buggy as hell. Damaged items are suddenly pristine 100%, the corpse itself is also always T-posing or floating. If playing with ironman it will also make it more exciting, making you question every decision even more!
- Your lose all your money when dying!
This is the primary reason I made this addon. I noticed how your money doesn't reset after dying. I had around 30k roubles on my previous character, died and suddenly had around 32k. This was because anomaly somehow forgot to reset your money when you die and instead just adds it. No more! Now you lose your precious money. Either spend it or stash it! More on that later. Your new character will still have about the same amount as when you create a new character in the character-creation menu.

It is quite shitty and makes you lose all motivation when you respawn as Renegade with 7 5.56 bullets but you have a double-barrel shotgun without spare ammo and are in the swamps without any meds or food. Good luck making it to the bandit-base with every faction on the way being hostile to you! Optional version without extra items included per request.
You now spawn with about the same stuff as when you create a new character via menu:

- 1x Backpack
- 1x Leather jacket
- 2x Bandages
- 2x Medkits
- 1x Cigarettes
- 1x Matchbox
- 1x Water flask
- 1x Bread
- 1x PM Handgun
- 32x 9x18 FMJ ammo
- + whatever your character happens to have in his inventory
- Withdrawing from wallet is fixed
Withdrawing money out of your wallet was somehow disabled or bugged in newer versions of Anomaly. I didn't create this fix myself, I found it on moddb or somewhere on the discord. Sadly I forgot who made it and can't credit him/her. But I decided to include this fix anyway since it's kind of needed for these Azazel-tweaks.

great mod <3 also,can u make a version without the itens spawn thing?i like when the game just throw me in a unfair (yeah,i probaly will just die but makes sense if u think in really picking up a random stalker,some will be smart,others not so much)

Thanks man. I was waiting a while for a mod like this. I was considering learning how to make one myself just to make Azazel usable, but now I dont have to :P
leave the body with items and everythink what u have, respown only fraction that u start the game no like stock, when i die as Loner i respown *** monolight or army. add quest imo to story there is body somewhere in there iv send him for smth, add pda with that quest where you pretend to go and u die for new character thats will continue main story only one respown even if u have to go naked :D for hardcore survival with knife.
That isn't really what Azazel mode is for. It's not a New Game+ type deal, it's supposed to be essentially a new start. Sometimes your starts are better than others. If you want to save your old gear you would be better off just playing with Azazel mode off and just loading if you die.
Azazel mode best I can figure is meant for weird autistic people like we, who love the struggle to gear up and get the stuff they want but have no idea what to do with it and get super bored once they get it. That as well as being fully punished for dying. Like that character is GONE, just like Ironman mode, but instead of having to go through the menu and hit random 5 times you just instantly load into a new one and start all over again.
Time to try the azazel mode... Thankyou.
Holy ****, you managed to fix that? Honestly my biggest problem with Azazel was the fact that old corpses stayed! Kinda immersion breaking to find a T posed corpse floating around with 100% condition gear on it. Id rather it just despawn and not be a go here to get your loot back deal.
Also the survival kit is a good idea for the bleeding glitch and all! Say, is there any way you can fix the gear you get randomly as well? I never liked how you spawn typically without any ammo for any of your weapons, and usually with weird clothes as well. I spawned as a Military guy at the Cordon checkpoint once wearing a leather jacket but armed with an AN-94. Implying it was a Spetsnaz guy I was using, I have no idea why it changed the armor given that I took over a Monolith guy and he had a full SKAT suit. Also rarely are you given a helmet as well, thought that's likely for balance.
One more small thing to consider, is there any way to set it where when you spawn as a new character you are already wearing the uniform and backpack your given? I occasionally spawn in a rather dangerous situation yet can't move due to my armor and backpack being unequipped. You can simply disable item usage animations to fix that but it's not preferable as then you don't get animations for repair items either.
All in all just food for thought! This right here is a MASSIVE improvment alone. Fantastic work! Hope the rest of the community likes it as much as I do!
Thanks mate. Sorry but I am really not an experienced scripter, just disabled and added a few lines lol. There is already a line in the script trying to spawn ammo for the guns but it seems it just applies the same formula as when the game tries to spawn items for corpses, e.g. sometimes a corpse you loot has ammo, sometimes none at all.
That leather jacket is actually a default anomaly backup-line in case the switched character (again same formula as with corpses) doesn't "drop" an outfit. I would suggest enabling Full outfit progression so it doesn't happen as often.
Outfit-equipping and ammo-spawning is probably doable but sadly beyond the scope of my modding-skills. Thats why I added the backup PM with 32 rounds
Anyway if some scripter wants to further develop this mod I would be happy to hand it over to him. But it seems like most of the community isn't really interested enough in Azazel :/

Ahh, good idea! You typically get a pretty good gun but yeah 32 rounds of emergency headshots can save your *** :P God I almost forgot the PM was in the game for a bit. I use literally nothing but the PMM for a sidearm, yesh.
The community is... extremely fickle. Something like this is something everyone wanted but couldn't have suggested unless it literally just happened to them. I've had countless issues like that where they poof just as soon as it isn't an immediate problem anymore. Furthermore the community is extremely... well they're gamers. And you know how that goes. Everyone from the most decent folks you'll ever know to some real cross eyed, angry little goblins. The latter are just so loud that's all you really notice most of the time. Egh.
