The stand-alone mod S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly aims to be the most stable and customizable experience for fans of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games. It's powered by the Monolith 64-bit engine, a custom fork of the X-Ray engine.

Description

Anomaly has a basic Anomaly Detector, which is not available for the player by default. I felt anomalies are too easy with the setting "Anomaly detector sound" enabled, but I was in situations several times, where it would be nice to have some prxomity warning still. Now, the Anomaly Detector is here to fill that void.

I was waiting for this, believe it or not. I usually just activate the anomaly sound when i get to own a svarog, so it feels like its the detector beeping. Now i can have a real anomaly detector, yay

I am running 2 big projects at the moment. When those will be finished, I will have a look at the fridge. Also I do not have any ideas how to make it viable at the moment :/

It would be a freezer for the Rotten Meat mod to store meat longer, but I just can not find any logical explanation how a custom freezer could function in the Zone. Possible making tasks accept roasted meat instead of raw one combined with my campfire mod might be more reasonable.

You can always make a custom craft for it using freon emission module and a lead container, or something like that.

To tell you the truth, I really dislike these items. They feel like magical items which run on forever with no battery. One solution might be, that they contain artefacts, which gives the magic, but for the cooler, there is no "frost" artefact as far as I know. If I will reach a state when I can release a massive mod as the collection of my mods, I might edit all the "fetch meat" quests to accept fried and cooked meat too. Not just gives you more money, but makes more sense. It would give more staying power for my campfire addon too. Since I work on a questing project in parallel with this one and the psy one, I might include this in that quest pack.

I feel the same with these upgrade items. Makes no sense to me to have the camelbak give you stamina recovery because why not. Same with the other ones. I can understand the Kevlar, etc. but for the anomaly resistance ones, makes no sense at all. IIRC we already discussed that years ago on the MISERY team and as far as I remember, we just let them ingame because they would make the game progression slightly faster for new players.

Yes. I think a good solution would be, if they would degrade when used. Like armour plates on impact, anti anomaly ones on impact with their respective damage negation, then they would reach condition zero, at they could be sold as junk or disassembled for parts. The only exception might be on Psy damage.

I might do it in the future, but not now, because I won't finish with anything...

Well, if im not mistaken, base CoC has artifact degradation. That could work if someone made it on Anomaly. Then again, I still miss ai dying in anomalies, etc. hehe.

BTW are u on anomaly dev team by any chance? They should chek upon ur work. It should be on base anomaly...

Actually, exactly. Those items are artefacts game mechanics-wise. I was wondering why artefacts do not degradate. For the Ai dies in anomaly, I have a full concept how to make NPCs die in Anomaly again, just do not have time at the moment to implement it :/ It is on the list too.

No, I am not part of the Anomaly team, but I ask for support from them constantly :D It would be nice if they would have some of my stuff, because making compatibility patches are getting complicated. The time draws near when I can release a big compilation of my mods and about my view on the Zone.

I was thinking about it, but it made things too easy. I think holding it was the best method balance-wise. Otherwise you would never hold it in your hand.

Hey man, I was wondering if you could make it beep for the other detectors too since the description for the echo detector says:

"This dated anomalous activity detector produces an alarm signal when anomalous particles enter a special chamber as you approach an anomaly."

I would rather not do it because of two specific reasons:
1, It would interfere with the artefact hunting mechanics big time, because you would be even able to hold an assault rifle while artefact hunting. You should have the detector still in your hand I suppose.

2, Artefact detection uses a cardinally different system which is engine-bound. Even if I would be able to affect it, it would be really complicated.

Greetings, Arszi. I've downloaded this mod, tested it with the ecologist (both Sakharov and Hermann) and they weren't for sale initially. I guess you need more reputation before they become available for sale?

Hello! Was it a new game? If it is not a new game, it might take 2 days for the detectors to appear. They will appear at the next trader inventory reset.

For whatever reason, setting the stock to two fixes this and the trader will have one for sale.

i.e. change "detector_anomaly = 1, 1" to "detector_anomaly = 2, 1"

For flavor reasons you may also consider adding the anomaly detector to the "Devices" trader preset so that traders that will buy/sell it are restricted.

In gamedata\configs\items\trade\presets\trade_presets.ltx under the "[Devices]" heading around line 1320 add a new line:
detector_anomaly

Are you using Trade Overhaul?
For some reason the Anomaly Detector won't spawn in any trader's inventory with that addon installed, even with the patches and manually checking for the anomaly_detector code line to be in the files.

Did you wait for 48 hours? Oo Trader Overhaul contains his own patch, I should update the description. Try it with that one. If it does not work still, I'll contact Agoodsetofpistol.

That was the first thing I did, followed by creating a new game and waiting up to a week, before checking the config files.

I don't remember perfectly but I'm confident I tried using both this add-on's patch and the one in trader's overhaul, tried it too with the combined patch with the Trader Overhaul for M82 & MP7 fix. In the end I decided to delete TO and just use this addon.

Also, sorry for the change of topic, but is it possible to make the anomaly detector and svarog sound while in inventory like a Geiger counter, through just config files? Because it would be really nice.

Contat a AGoodSetOfPistol then maybe, he might be able to help. I tested it with my files, and Shakarov had them always Oo There is some randomness in the topic, but the had them for me always :/

If you start the game in debug mode, then F7, spawn items, devices, and detector_anomaly or anomaly_detector. You can spawn it for yourself. It is not expensive anyways.

Also you do not have to delete the whole TO, just Shkharov's file. I think it should be OK.

I could make the Swarog one actually, I'll have a look about it on the weekend. The problem with "this one", that it will make absolutely no sense to hold it in hand if it will beep from the inventory. But for the Svarog is a valid one.

I appreciate the help, but i decided to leave Trader Overhaul for another playthrough anyways due to the extensive changes it has and the strange bug with this addon makes me want to try it with more insight into TO's files and why it didn't work correctly.
And i know i could spawn an anomaly detector once i reached Yantar, but i've been trying to stay away from debug mode as much as possible because of my previous... overindulgence with it, i'm not using TO for now anyways.

I get what you mean, that would miss most of the point of the anomaly detector, but it's more fair and fitting for an svarog, thanks for looking into it.
Also, correct me if i'm wrong, i haven't played one of the original Stalker games in years, but wasn't the Veles also capable of detecting proximity to anomalies exclusively by sound when handheld? I can't recall.

Is there something I can change to make the drain much lower? Personally how i would want to use it is just have out constantly whilst walking, but with it using 10 uah battery it would go through a ton of them that way. Dont really want to lower the global battery degradation if i can help it.

Update4Hotfix8 or RC?
Both version has a "tools" folder with db_unpacker.bat files, or something similar. Those ones will unpack the config and scripts db files. You can find the ltx files in question there.
