The wait was long by worthy. Klean was suggesting on stream to have DMCA free songs over the game when I was discussing Anomaly modding with him. This could be really cool but nearly impossible to pull out I guess.

Thanks mate! I hope people enjoy it - The wait came from balancing all the audio :)

Hello, why is Sidorovich's playlist can playing in the Dead City? And why are there no paths to folder mlr\mercs in xr_sound.ltx? Or where should the paths to these folders be? How to fix? You write about "Mercenary Base – Dead City (mix of gruff Russian and International songs, suggesting a diverse, experienced group)", but actually it is not. Please help)

Also, You can let Klean know that I'll be releasing a lite version soon (with only one song per station) that can be used as a framework to build a DMCA free station list. If someone sends me a pack of DMCA free songs I might even make a pack for him.

He's looking for lore-friendly DCMA-free stuff, I'd love such a pack for myself as well (when I play on stream), but I've got no clue on where to find lore-friendly eastern european music that's also guaranteed DCMA-free xD

I'm just waiting a few days to see if some bugs stand out or not. And this will immediately go as mandatory on the community add-on list ;)

Good idea! Right now the only thing I might change is the loudness of the audio. It's a bit quiet, but I need feedback from others (in lieu of being able to play this myself for a while)

A tad louder could be, in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback! Any in particular were too quiet? I'm fighting to find the right balance due to engine limitations.

Sidorovich's playlist playing in the Dead City? What garbage - the main thing with loudness is to solve the problem, right?

A new game is needed so that the radios work. If a new game isn't started the effects don't load into the game.

Can i ask you what should i do if i wanted to just add more songs to the vanilla radios without changing anything else?

The vanilla radios are all linked to one radio station, and require a different process. You should check out tronex's guide on discord of you want to edit vanilla radios.

Hi. Great addon. BUT. 2 years ago I tried to make it work - failed. 1 year ago - the same thing. Now - again. I've already learned how to write sound script! Do you have Karl Milo? Cool. But it doesn't work. The problem is that all songs sound like a whisper (almost audible) at any volume. This addon is very important to me because these songs are very nostalgic) So, for example, in the Misery mod everything works fine.
I understand that creating addons is a voluntary process. I am just asking, can you help? (I am already tried Solarint's Soundscape overhaul).

Did you start a new game for this? It's essential to do that to get it working.

Of course I did, a hundred times.
So, have any ideas?
Can you turn up the volume of songs (or sources)? Its too difficult? Maybe I can do it myself using sdk (actor editor). I have already tried increasing the volume of each song in Audacity. But:
1) it has become too noisy 2) there are too many of them (more than 100). If it helps, I turned up the volume by 10dB and it helped (but with only one song and too noisy). Thanks.

To increase the volume, you do not need to add decibels to the compositions - just increase the distance - the maximum-minimum in SAVandT

NICE to have this finally back!! Thx a ton!

Unfortunately I'm now too far in my new playthrough as I'd start over from scratch. But there is a way to initiate the changes from this mod to an ongoing game, for the most part. I did that back in the days with U4H8. I just don't remember it exactly anymore...

If I remember correctly, it was possible to reenable at least a few of the base megaphones as they were afaik already spawned ready-to-go but in vanilla-Anomaly they had some wonky config files, the wrong file paths or used non-existent files for their sounds. Something like that but this is just an educated guess, last time I looked at the files was in something late 2019. x)

That's correct. Not starting a new game enables a few that are already spawned, but not the rest. You could try it and see what happens?

Really great mod, but the radios are too quiet in my opinion. When I was at agroprom it was shadowed by the helicopter engine and in rostok I have to be right next to it to hear anything. Inside the bar it is fine however.

Thanks for your feedback, I'll consider changing the loudness, but there are a few game limitations I'm having to fight. For Eg, the audio in rostok will start to bleed into the bar's audio if it gets too load because the bar doesn't have map effects that block above ground sound etc.

I would love it if you could maybe add a separate "fix" to the audio. I know that it would annoy some people having Rostok radio bleeding into the bar but I wouldn't mind it.
I wish I could suggest some kind of fix to it but coding is space magic to me. I really appreciate the mod and your hard work either way!

Fantastic mod, I had a chance to try out the Monolith version some time ago.

Right now I tested it in existing game and was able to hear the radio in a few places (haven't check them all, yet). Rookie Village was fine, Rostok and Yanov Station also, I think.

AW and Skadovsk are a bit quiet (especially Skadovsk, where audio source is outside). Pripyat doesn't work without new game :/

On the other hand, I agree with your general loudness choices - It's better to have the addon level a bit too low than too high - if it's too intrusive, and/or in area where you have to stay for a longer time, it can be irritating, especially considering that usually it's not the primary music source, people use ambient tracks or in-game radio.

Thanks for your in depth review mate! It really helps me out to know which ones need tweaking. I decided to go quiet rather than louder not only because of why you said, but also because there's an engine limitation: I can either make them loud and cut out abruptly, or quiet a Nd fade smoothly. The alternative is that a small radio ends up being heard 700 metres away lol.

As for army warehouses, that's actually a vanilla radio I reactivated, and is inside the building, not the megaphone

Yeah, in AW the sound seems to come from the old tape recorder :)
If I find something worth mentioning in other locations, I'll let you know. But i think right now, as it is, is almost perfect.

I checked all locations, and here are my (very subjective) impressions:
(setup: headphones, SFX volume 1, Music volume 0.1 [ambient tracks], Envir. sounds 0.5, ambient wind sounds. General volume level... rather high.)

- Considering fact that audio source in AW is right next to important character, I'd leave loudness it as it is now, even despite I'd prefer the music to be louder.
- Skadovsk - louder, music disappears inside.
- Train hangar: louder. Gopniks don't give a **** about neighbors ;)
- Monolith sermon - louder. It's... epic, instant goosebumps.
- Bookstore: louder. For some time I wasn't able to hear the music at all, nor locate its source.
- Forester - louder. Hes old and deaf :)
- Merc base - louder. Now the radius is very small.

Other places seem to be a very good compromise.
Excellent addon. Thank you.

P.S. Rostok bar is a bit loud, seems to distort music.

Fantastic work! it adds a lot of atmosphere, one thing that would be really cool is if this could maybe be used together with MCM for us to be able to adjust each static radio/megaphone volume output individually? I too feel that some of them are too low and almost not audible at all (train depot could definitely be increased IMO)

I'll probably review them this weekend and release a patch. Unless I play the game for a bit it's hard to tell what needs fixing lol. I have no idea how mcm works, so if that's something someone wants to do for me, I'll add it to the mod

I found a BIG problem. At the loc Zaton (Skadovsk) the radio doesnt work. Because entire stalker_radio playlist hasnt been configured in ActorEditor.cmd -> Sound Editor (X-Ray CoP SDK).
I loaded all songs into ActorEditor.cmd and configured them (MinDist = 3 MaxDist = 30 MaxAIDist = 30) and then sync them. That helped.
Maybe it will help in other locations if something is wrong. I gave up and returned to this problem for 2.5 years. Im just a player, first discovered the resources of the game.

Sounds don't need to be configured through actor editor, they only need to be commented... In all my years using stalker I've never heard of anyone using this. Could you post a vid of what you're doing?

Ok. When I faced the problem with the radio, I started looking for a solution and at some point I found the video how to create a radio in a stalker. I did everything like that from the moment "Sound Configuring - 11:43", and it helped a lot. Sorry, but this video is in russian only, but you can see everything he does on the screen and obviously you can use subtitles.

I speak Russian so I understood it lol.

All my files already went through this process. It's not important to convert the files to wav format and open actor editor. If you look at the video, he only opens actor editor to open the more important SOUND editor (I used level editor but it doesn't matter). I've used the sdk to balance all my sounds, and that's how I got my values for the mod. Every station, including the ones in Skadovsk were balanced via max distance. you can see me explaining this on discord here (more than a year ago):

Anyway, nothing worked for me until I did everything in SOUND editor. I cannot figure it out. Maybe its some sort of incompatible with some gameplay addon or smth (I didnt using the other sound addon).

There is a spot outside of the Rostok bar, where you can hear music playing inside. I suppose the radius just goes a bit too far.

Thanks for the bug report! It's because the bar doesn't have "sound exclusions" built into the map (Sid's bunker does for Eg). That's why I can't reduce the sound level in the bar, otherwise you would hear the megaphones over the top of it. Unfortunately I can't do anything about it unless the maps are recompiled.
