I hope not, I use some of lower textures myself, although I have mid-end PC. It's just a texture mod as any other.

Well if he do that, you should mirror this mod and post it on discord. Anyway, great mod for performance! As I play anomaly on laptop myself.

Well, if that happen then we will see. But at this moment I can see no reason to remove this mod. I helps a lot of people to improve performance, including myself.

Hmmm, choosing this pack or Classic textures? Where preformance will be better? But I played with standard textures on medium-low DX8, not bad fps tho.

These are similar textures to default ones of Anomaly, while Classic Pack offers textures like from previous STALKER games. Different colors, details etc. In this pack all textures are 1k or less, including trees, architecture, vehicles, actors, mutants, weapons, signs, while Classic Pack focuses on environment and architecture only afaik, not sure if there are any textures 2k/4k in there.

I think Classic textures has ported all it's textures from Call of Chernobyl, which it should use less video memory (in fact, some screenshots in the addon page confirm that) but I dunno how it compares to your addon in terms of perfomance gain, I can't test it properly. Still your addon is a nice contribution!

Yeah some of the Anomaly textures looks like they had parallax, improved sharpness and stauration, Classic Pack brings back textures form SoC/CoP. With my pack you keep Anomaly's vanilla style, Classic Pack brings something different.

I'd love a 256px texture pack, that would look pixelated and ps1-ish. Tho the way the engine works, you'd need to disable detailing in the textures, and there is also the fact that the Texture Filtering is always on and there is no way to disable it, to my knowledge at least, so you'd have to make all textures to 256px and then up them again to 1024px, so it doesn't look blurry. its too much work and no one is gonna do it probally. tho it would be really cool.

Hmm interesting idea. Resize it to 256px and then back to 1024px, but you know it's easy to downscale textures and make some mipmaps, upscaling textures is little bit different story. Upscaled textures are always blurry, not sure If I know which software could be good for it.

I found out on my own system setting r__optimize_dynamic_geom 3 (the same effect of leaving the Dynamic Objects render distance at the second slider) improved my stability at clear weather on maps with much visiblity like Army Warehouses.

r__optimize_shadow_geom on
r__optimize_static_geom 3

Hi, There is the possibility of using this mod but without modifying "Actors (Stalkers, Mutants), Weapons (with addons)"
I would like to be able to only modify "some items, walls, roofs, floor, bricks, ground, detail, trees, bushes, glass."

Thank you and thanks for your work.

You can install any other mod on this, it's just a textures, so they can be safely overriden. Alterantively, you can unpack this with "CS Unpacker" and just remove "Act" and "Wpn" folders.

What happens is that I have in the folder (db / Mods) other modifications of textures that improves the Stalkers and Mutants, and I do not know if all of themselves within "db / Mods" can generate some type of conflict.

This mod is just a textures so they will be overwritten by other mods, or will overwritte other mods. Nothing else will happen.

Right, but if I have these files in the same "Mods" folder than others that modify the same thing, which of them has the priority?

Thank you for answering my questions.

It's OK to ask questions. I guess it depends of the db's names, you can rename the dbs (let's say one will start its name with "a" like Xaaa, other with "z" like Zaaa, so the one with "a" will be overwritten by that one with "z").

Honestly I never thought about this as I'm always packing all my mods into package and everything runs together.

Thank you very much, I'm going to prove it happens by renaming files.
Working together I did not have any problem (your Addon would be overwriting the other taking into account the conclusion of A_Z)
But I have not noticed difference in performance, nor in saves load speed ... I'm also going to try only with your Addon to see if I see any difference.
Thank you for goodwill and patience to answer (thumb up)

Sure, no problem. Remember to put all modpack.dbs to db/mods. Or install with MO2.

Finally I did the following: I put your Addon in the db folder and execute the other Addons (Stalker & Mutants Moddb.com Moddb.com) from JSGME.
Everything works perfectly, I have an improvement in Performance and Mutants and Stalkers in good quality almost without sacrificing performance.

Thank you very much for the Addon, your patience and your help

So to confirm... this mod basically reduces vanilla Anomaly texture resolution?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
FairFight Author
FairFight - - 129 comments

Yes, this are some of the Anomaly textures (not all of them) resized down and with generated mipmaps. Also the saturation might be slightly different, that's natural effect of downscaling.

Reply Good karma+2 votes

Why some of them and not all of them? Won't it seem weird having mixed resolution textures all over the place? Do you plan to do all of them eventually?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote
FairFight Author
FairFight - - 129 comments

Maybe I will, we will see. I made this one by the way, only because I had them unpacked for something else.

Downscaling some textures might be dangerous, especially effects or grass, as it might give you some bugs.

EnviroRads

Can confirm, this helped with gaining a little more fps overall, but for my laptop things like bushes and tree leaves really cost a lot of performance, I use other addon (COMPRESSED - TREE LEAVES&BUSH; V1.1) which helps a lot (maybe by the fact that the textures are in 512x)

Sorry for broken english.

I already downsized trees and bushes to 1K. Perhaps you have a mod that downsize it even more, as you said to 512px.

I didn't touch the grass, was working only with textures lately.

I am still trying to figure out why non moded game consume 4gb vram with the texture slider on far right. With this mod consumes only 3 and not lower since they are 1k and not 4k like the vanilla one? Are there any mods to complement this one to lower even further?

Reply Good karma Bad karma0 votes
FairFight Author

Not all textures have been downscaled. In general, only architecture, environment (without grass), actors and weapons.

As for resources consuming, Stalker engine is old, even modded still has some limits.
