Xtreme Paintball is a paintball mod for the Source engine. Our goal as a team is to create a fun and realistic first person paintball experience. You will be able to play various formats of paintball including Speedball, Xball, Woodsball and Scenario. The first three will all be similar in the fact that they will be capture the flag formats, with very distinct difference in rules and feilds. Scenario will be quite different, in that a team will need to complete certain objectives to win.
We will be blending some aspects of an RPG with the first person atmosphere. A player will be able to buy more equipment and upgrade skills with points that they gain. Points are gained thru various means, most common will be by eliminating other players, and capturing the flag. You will have an equipment screen to buy new equipment, as well as select the equipment that you will use for the "day of paintball". This will allow for a player to retain different equipment setups depending on what position/role they want to play. Players will also be able to select from a variety of jerseys/clothing/camo depending on their style and taste.
All of this information will be linked to your Steam:ID so you will be able to carry this equipment to other servers, without having to re-earn it all.
Because of this feature, we will have different ranked servers, Rookie, Novice, Ameture, Pro. You will always be able to play on a server that is higher ranked than you are, but never lower. The ranking will be determined by the amount of points you have accumulated as well as a few other factors. This will also allow for new players to ease into the game without getting completely owned by more experience players.
We will have all the major manufacturers of paintball supplies represented with plans for the entire 2005 lineup of clothing and markers, as well as loaders,air tanks, and barrels. We will also offer different brands and grades of paint that will have an affect on accuracy as well as ball breakage.
The game will play like a day of paintball will play, you will be able to move in the same maner. You will be able to shoot both left and right handed. You will be able to do bunker runs. You will be able to throw pods after reloading. Balls will break in your gun for various reasons. Basically we are going to create a paintball sim.

This is our first real Media release for our mod. As school for many has finished or starting to wind down for the summer we have found more time to do our favorite pastimes....mainly making games and playing paintball! So stay tuned for more updates to come.
First off I have a high resolution model from Retrocide, of a Tippmann A-5. This model will be used for normal mapping, so we have great amounts of detail in our ingame models.
The second image is of an older Autococker that I have done that has a normal map applied to it. This will be one of the LOD's that we will have in the game.

I have added some screen shots of the textured character. Its about 98% finished on textures (just minor tweaks, alpha/specs/normal adjustments).
YAY PAINTBALL MOD
Many of the things you have mentioned we actually have planned. You will be able to pick different barrels that will affect the accuracy as well as different paint types. Not all of what you had mentioned will make it into the game, not because we dont want it, but because it doesnt fit the gameplay design. Rest assured that we will be true to paintball, and I'm sure that everyone will be happy.
you should make it so people can keep and costomize there guns with long barrels(more accurate shots), dropforwards('cuz there cool), collapsable stocks(for less recoil), sight rails and scopes(for longer zoom ranges), grenade launcher(you know why), lasers, smoke grenades, bipods(like in DOD), larger CO2 and nitrogen tanks(for power), and dont forget paint jobs for your gun, and the tippmann 98. include all this with what you got and you'll have a kick-*** mod! :thumbup: keep up the good work!
Just to let everyone know, we had to change our name due to an unintentional trademark infringement on our behalf. Things are slowly getting settled and we will have a new address for our site, which I will update as soon as I get it finished.
