An ongoing overhaul of the RTS game Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2. Over 100 new ships, including Titans and Mega Titans, Massive fleets, stats overhaul and changes, tweaks of abilities and a ton of other changes that affects both the Campaign mode and Skirmish mode.
This full version has been archived by the uploader because it is out of date and no longer supported. We recommend you browse the file list for the latest full version.
This version focuses mainly on Imperial ships/campaign and Necron ships/campaign. It also adds new ships and is updated for the Patch 3 ("Necron patch") of BFGA2. Includes a hotfix. Re-install if you already have it.
V.1.0.1 Major overhaul of the original game. (+ hotfix).
This version focuses mainly on Imperial ships/campaign and Necron ships/campaign and adds new ships. The Tyranid campaign also gets the increased fleet/battle amounts, but no other changes as of yet as they will get their own version with focus for them later.
Skalgrim mod also changes stats for Ordnances like fighters and bombers, decreases their reload time and makes them better and more worth the points spent on carriers. It changes the stats for weapons, units, and campaign related things. It rebalances the game and makes for several times larger battles by both lowering shipcosts and increasing the amount of points available for both fleets and battles.Fleet sizes grow with levels just as in the original game, but to much greater sizes. You can also have more fleets. It rebalances critical hits, making bigger ships more resistant to crits. It rebalances morale, but increasing the rate at which morale regenerates, and several morale related effects. It buffs many abilities, meaning that your choices matter more as a admiral.I'v rebalanced the difficulty levels for campaigns as well. If you want a challenge, its yours for the taking.
The Skalgrim mod does not strive to be perfectly balanced, but guarantees massive battles unlike that in the original game, including some new content. Balancing and changes are also an ongoing project, so check back for news. Im just one guy working on this mod so don't expect to much. Enjoy the mod? Leave a comment.
Also: A special thanks to CALiGeR_Reborn from the VI mod for allowing me to use their ordnance changes, with minor tweaks, in my mod.

Changelog:
________________________________________
( I started making a real changelog, but gave up after a few hours. I'v changed thousands of things for this mod. From stats to gameplay balance. I don't have the time to keep note of all changes or create changelogs that are several pages long. Instead I'll just add certain details that are worth mentioning. The rest can be felt while playing, or read as stats on the various ships/weapons etc.)
Bugfixes and changes from 1.0:
You can now get past the mission where you have to buy an Escort for Spires fleet. (Increased fleet points to 500)
The Necron Defensive Particle Whip now always does shield-piercing damage and is stated to do that. (Increased reload time to 25 seconds)
Necron Particle whip has been nerfed to 85 damage and 15 seconds reload.
Major Imperial Changes from previous version:
________________________________________
New ships:
Defender, a LC for Imperial Navy (replaces Dauntless mk1) and the Victus Imperialis, a Gloriana Class Battleship. (With current stats and weapons much alike the Macragges Honour Titan, but crewed by Imperial Navy personell.) It replaces the Lunar class cruiser.
Note: You will start out with a Victus Imperialis for Admiral Spire while in the campaign, and despite it being a Battle ship class, it will unlock as if it was a cruiser. There is currently no way to change this, nor the picture that represents it.
(Think using titans in early game makes it to easy? Change Spires main ship, sell the Victus Imperialis, and don't buy it until level 9 when the BS unlocks naturally.)
Major Necron Changes from previous version:
________________________________________
Necron ships are faster, have faster turnrates, higher and faster regen, crewcount, regen of crewcount, better weapons, and can jump farther and faster. They are the OP faction that others should fear. But their ships cost alot more now than any other faction. You will always be outnumbered. "Good" I hear your inner Necron Overlord say, "more chattle to strike down."
New Battleship: Cairn Annihilator. (created from Cruiser Scythe Harrower, it uses this picture.)
This is a behemoth, massive, slow, but with more weapons and range than the standard Cairn. Including the new Weapon Defensive Particle Whip.
New Weapon Defensive Particle Whip: Range 20000. Damage 825. Reload 25s. 360 degree targeting. (Targeting info doesn't show in text.)
Known bugs: Pictures for new ships are still the old ones. They can (sometimes) be unlocked in the campaign as if they were still their old ship-classes.
Targeting info doesn't show in text for Defensive Particle Whip. It has 360 degree targeting range.

Important information:
This is made for single (skirmish and campaign) play. Using or trying to use the mod for online (multiplayer or singleplayer play might get you permanently banned unless you deactivate the EAC as per installation instructions.)
NOTE: You can probably play this with a friend- if you both have the same mod version. Have not tried it.
Its higly recommended that you start a new campaign even with changes of modversion (easy has been made a bit easier for the n00bs) at normal or hard difficulty (have been made harder for the pros). Certain ships, defence stations etc will otherwise keep their old stats and not be completely affected by the mods changes.
Installation options and instructions:
First up: You need change the launch options in Steam. This is done by right-clicking on the game in Steam - Then selecting properties - Then Set Launch Options. Here you need to write -NoEAC . Good, now you need to start up the game. It should read Stormancer disabled in the top right corner. If it does, you are now free to start installing the mod.
Installation options:
Recommended: All related files.
Optional:
Want a bit smaller fleets (about 100% larger than orginal game) but still want the rest of the mod? - Don't install Renown_Design_Imperium
Only want bigger fleets? (Fleet sizes up to 1500 pts and Battles up to 2000 pts) just install Renown_Design_Imperium, Renown_Design_Necron and Renown_Design_Tyranids. You will not get ability/weapon/stat/campaign changes etc.

Install instructions:
1: Make a safe copy version of your gamefiles.
Copy all files in Battlefleet Gothic Armada II\BattlefleetGothic2\Content\Data (your games install directory) create a folder somewhere for them and name it whatever you want. This is your original files, swaping them with the modded lets you go back to previous configurations if you so wish. Also note that during updates of the game you might need to replace files from your modded versions with the newly added ones from updates if you want the mod to work.
2: Extract Skalgrim Mod from .rar file. Replace all (or selected) folders and subfolders and files with the ones in the rar-archive.
3: Play and gasp in wonder as your might fleets lay waste to your enemies.
Yay!
Have the Gloriana replace the gothic, not the luna, the luna is actually useful
At the beginning of the imperial campaign where it makes you recruit an escort, I cant press confirm because it exceeds the fleet value. How can I go pass this?
I am also having this issue of not being able to press confirm, I hope you can fix this as I was really looking forward to an imperial campaign with this mod!
Ah, ok, that is something that I will have to look at. Its because of the Lunar being remade as a new ship-class. On it.
EDIT: The fix was simple enough. I'll have a new version of the mod up in a short bit.
Updated the file with a hotfix for the Spire-Escort bug. Also includes Necron nerfs. Just reinstall. Should not break or change your saved files. Enjoy and thanks for pointing out the error.
Wonderful mod, is it possible to have the Phalanx outside of the intro?
Yes its possible. Not sure if Im going to add it though.
It is heresy to not include that Emperor Given Behemoth in the fleet.
This mod is actually amazing, thank you so much for doing it. One issue I have encountered is that Transdimensional Thunderbolt doesn't work in skirmish, if I select it, it does not appear as a usable ability in battle.
1: you might need to reinstall the mod. The hotfix changed one of the files in my mod that affects Necrons.
2: Most likely you were using the new Cairn Annihilator as a admirals ship - and the thing unfortunately is that because of how that model was made by me (using the games current ships and mashing them together) that means that one of the abilities choosen does not work IF that ship is used as a admirals ship. There is no way currently to fix this Im sorry to say. The ship is very good if used correctly and passive stats will apply to it etc, but yeah that is a tradeoff.
Thank you so much! This has made BFA2 playable again for me after they changed the way the save file held the leadership values and voided the save game editor.
mod super, thanks!
SkalgrimFellaxe can you please put up a short guide on how to view the UnitSchemeOffical file as the instruction on focus forums didnt explain it very well. Thanks.
No, its not a super simple thing. You need to follow the information posted in Focus forums in regards to modding. There are a bunch of steps that needs to be taken to make it work. It took me a day just to get to the point of accessing the files.
Is it possible to replace a ship in the save file with the Phalanx
No.
Any update bringing the big ships for the campaign? :D Like giving them to enemies and the phalanx to the empire?!
Is this getting an update?
Yes Im going to work on it this week. Major update is the plan. New ship(s) included.Going to add titans and possible new BS to more factions to offset Imperial supremacy in this regards.
Great work with the necrons, with the mod they actually feel like the superior race they are in the lore. one question, does this version of the mod includes the ships of the previous versions? cause i successfully installed the v1.01 but i don't see things like the adeptus mechanicus titan "speranza" or the space marine titan or the orks rework.
Im working on a new version of the mod.( v.1.2) Those ships are new for the upcoming version.
