Manufactured by the Empire after a number of losses due to Rebel starfighter hit and run attacks, it became evident that a counter to these assaults was needed. In response, Kuat Drive Yards commissioned the Raider-class corvette, which performed excellently in the field.
Model and textured by Warb_Null. Ingame, the Raider replaces the Lancer as the Empire's anti-starfighter frigate.

Yeah the shape is close to the Ravager but just different enough to not be the same class.
Could be an later adaption of the ravager.
This was designed by the same person who designed the Venator and Imperial class Star Destroyers. This is no later adaption of the Ravager which is a battlecruiser while this is a anti-starfighter corvette. The Ravager is over 10 times the size of the Raider being 1200 meters while the Raider is 100-120 meters.
Raider is 150 meters to be exact.

It just looks so imperial realy something that you would expect of an imperial corvette to look like.
I think it looks more fitting than the Lancer myself.
was the raider also used during the legacy Era?
I don't believe the Raider was in any of the EU. It was just a ship designed for the X-wing and Star Wars Armada games as an Imperial corvette to counter the CR90 of the Rebels. It was made instead of them using the Lancer.
Yeah,just checked,Raider literally appeared in two things: Armada Miniature set expansion and X-Wing set expansion.

Kinda sad to see the Lancer go,but hey,i haven't seen the Raider in any of SOASE mods,hell,not even in any EAW mods.Loved the design from the moment i saw it in the X-Wing Miniature set.
It is in one EAW mod but not as part of the Empire it's part of a made up faction that use "updated" SWTOR era ships plus fanon ships like Galaxy Class Star Destroyer.

I kinda wanna see a Galaxy Class Star Destroyer and debate whether or not it can rumble with Unicron...
It's called Fear the Dark Side. Unicron is a bit big for a Star Destroyer.. I mean the Galaxy class is only the size of an Allegiance class.
It's also in the Interregnum mod for SOASE replacing the lancer for the imperial remnant faction.
