Sinister's Wasteland or Wasteland (RPG) is the name of our Tribes 1 modification. The core of our mod was originally released by Jeremy Irons some time ago and we took it upon ourselves to improve upon it. The Tribes engine comes with many difficulties and we've tried to combat them as much as possible. If you've ever played the original TribesRPG mod then you will enjoy this mod alot. It retains most of the basic rpg elements but that's where it ends. We've incorporated a night/day scheme based on real time, which has never been done before in Tribesrpg to my knowledge. We've introduced Dragons into the game that spit fire (requires an additional download). There have been over 200 additional spells added to the game, not to mention a hoarde of new weapons and skills. The problem with much of the older RPG servers is that once you hit a certain level you tend to plateau and have nothing to do. With our mod, we've fixed some of the boredom that players get at higher levels by adding bigger, meaner bosses and certain spells and skills that can only be achieved if they are high level. We haven't forgotten the little nooblets either. I envisioned a bot character that would heal people and after 3 years of development she is now a reality. She can be controlled ingame by chat commands and has all the functionality of a player, plus some admin powers. 0. Install TribesRPG. You can download TribesRPG here: Tribesrpg.org (Repack) or at Pcrpg.org (client for official PCRPG server)
* Repacked version contains more available servers and pre-installed mods. I prefer that version.
1. download and unpack Iceworld updater in any folder you like: Sinbot.linneberg.com
2. download and install old Iceworld updater, but don’t launch: Sinbot.linneberg.com
3. open directory where you installed OLD Iceworld updater (mine is C:\Program Files\Iceworld Updater\)
4. copy file named “unzip.exe” to root of the directory in which you unpacked new IW updater (for note: this folder contains files: iceworld.exe, about.bmp, BASE.zip and etc.)
5. [optional] Old iceworld updater no longer need, so if you want you can uninstall it
6. launch Iceworld.exe (that file located at folder in which you copied “unzip.exe”), click “find my tribes folder” and manually find that (mine is C:\Games\Tribes ), after click “Install iceworld”, wait for some seconds (after installation finish launcher will close automatically)
7. open Iceworld.exe again and now click “check for updates”, agree to installing update, wait until all files will be downloaded (launcher will close automatically again)
8. finally open Iceworld.exe, and click “create desktop shortcut”

Sinister is a great developer who created Wasteland mod for TribesRPG and he is Wasteland's (Iceworld's) server owner.
P.S. I know that Sinister’s server is long dead, but if anyone wants to know how do this, so that's what you're looking for.
If you got error like "A game of Tribes is currently open" after trying to press "install IceWorld", simple close Tribes'folder if you opened that and press button again.
To install Wastlend mod correctly do this:
1. download and install old Iceworld Updater (named iceworldv01b.exe) from sinbot.linneberg.com/webrpg/
2. click install Icworld, after finish close that programm
3. download and unpack new updater Sinbot.linneberg.com
4. launch that updater and click "check for updates"
5. after finish "create desktop shortcut"
Sinisters Wasteland is a interesting child mod of Tribes RPG, it has many zones andd has a good gameplay feeling inherited from its parent game Tribes, especiallly when you advance levels which is what I think is its only downside - very slow progression. The game has developed a large but simple taxonomy of different wepondary spells items and skills that integrate well into the maps creating more complex quest schemes.
There are a few limitations on the game that increase the learning curve of the game which was one of the rough transitions between tribes (fps) and trpg (rpg) - but which are being ironed out. A major one is that many commands and actions IN GAME are text driven (leasure suit lary style). This is a huge drawback, but poses a good opportunity to any moder that wants to iron that kink out.
TribesRPG is a good mod to work on, and if you have some basic knowledge, different ideas will be fairly easy to get working on - and it will increase you knowledge and lateral thinking in the C language set. It is definitely not as WYSIWYG as designing for games like Never Winter Nights, so artist modders beware.

Yes this is def. a must, all the stuff in Iceworld(IW) is awsome, it's a must see really, you will not be disappointed!
For those who do not have the game I recommend you to download it if you haven't tried out this game. This game size isn't a lot. Also this game could run on basically any computer.

Iceworld is a 2nd server that has harder bots to kill and more quests for you to do. Iceworld requires a download. Also Iceworld is Sinister's Exclusive server. No other TRPG has Iceworld.
I have been playing in this server since about the beginning of this server and I recommend it.
Also this server is getting new people and this server will still have updates. (New zones/spells/weapons)
