The First Age of the Sun and Moon is perhaps the most eventful timeline within the works of JRR Tolkien. It is steeped in theological and philosophical themes, while retaining the epic scale that most are accustomed to when they think of Tolkien. Our hope is to recreate, as accurately as possible, the words and ideas of the author into the Total War universe. As there is yet to be any concrete display of what we believe to be the greatest and most thought-provoking age within the world of Arda, here is to you Silmarillion: Total War.
A fantastic addition to the House of Fingolfin roster made by Skylii with some help from Theodron who provided the body mesh.
The Sons of Hurin are a deadly unit of unbreakable, two-handed axemen who escort their lord Hurin, pictured in the centre with the Dragonhelm, into battle. Aure entuluva!
Nice units. You should give them a sword for decoration though, otherwise the shields are useless ^^
they cover their backs...how is that useless?
yeah, just becouse they dont fight with them doesnt mean they are useless, also they look cool
The main purpose of a shield is to cover yourself with it against attacks coming from infront of you. And you can't wield a shield together with a twohanded axes.
Sure, it's covering the back which is pretty useful when you don't want to get an arrow into it while running away from the battlefield :P
well then the shields are useless and they are only there to make the unit look cool
I have nothing against a cool looking unit. It would only make it better if a little sword would be there too. So one can imagine that the unit switches between 2h-axe and sword & shield depending on the situation.
that would break the look of the unit, thats why i didnt add it
If I may: The intention here is to provide the unit with a shield value for the purposes of unit balance. Except in very clearly defined exceptions all of our units are WYSIWYG (What you see is what you get.) If a unit has a shield value then 9.9 times out of 10 it will have a shield on the model to reflect that.
My only gripe is that Turin doesn't have Gurthang
