The "Ancient Wight Horde" unit is made up of old reanimated skeletons, like you see during the first part of the Hardhome battle. They're much faster than regular Wights but are vulnerable to cavalry and missile fire.
(Jon Snow on the right hand corner of the pic, pure luck)
Beautiful!I would expect the missiles like arrows to have very little effect on these undead given the following factors:
-they are hard to spot and aim at from distance due to low profile and "see through" effect givn lack of flesh;
-missiles might pass through the ribs without making an impact.
This leads to a viable white walkee battle tactic.They can be used to soak up whatever little damage from enemy missile troops and depleting enemy ammo. Then they tie up enemy in melee for short time,fighting to the last bone standing while more durable troops flank etc.What do you think?
Yup, infinate morale, strong to moderate melee, very susceptible to fire damage. That's what I'd go for. I think range weapons that include fire arrows and flammable catapult ammunition should be your best friend against these troops. Wights have 'oily' bones and flesh that catches fire very easily. In Lore it's uncertain what the oil actually is but it's presumably part of the process of resurrection and 'preserves' them if you will. Once they become a wight it takes a long time for them to rot.
That's too op. This unit would just reap everything. No missile Damage Low attack Damage High Health Medium defense. They aren't op due to not inflicting damage but being able to maintain a tie up of other units.

It's not possible to make some units more susceptible to fire than others -- one of the balancing limitations
I don't think you're trying hard enough. Can't you convince some of those 'Russian hackers' to allow the ability?
