Here you can post improvement proposals for EoC III and bugs you found while playing.

OK, Liandri and I made a final changelog after testing it for a long time now.

Here our summary:

1: Remove Katas completely, replace them by the fast attack combination
(old: walk + block + direction, release block and atk)
, and set the energy costs of the fast attack
combination to 40.
2: Saber touch damage should be removed (would make duels last longer)
3: The roll stab attack should cost 65 Energy (the damage is fine now!)
4: The saber speed in general is too high. Lowering it would result in smarter duels, as "random" blocks would get rarer.
Tests are done. The perfekt saberanimspeed is 0.84!
5: Saber throw damage is too high and its very hard to block this. Please lower the damage and make it easier to block.
6: Sometimes you get heavy damage or die instant when falling to the ground, even from small distances.
This often happens when you get pushed or pulled. This damage should be lowered a lot.
7: Flachette-weapon is still too strong. even with saber block you can not last longer than 2 seconds against this weapon.
8: The explosion-radius of the Thermal Detonator is too high.
9: Please add the pull stab-attack for all stances
10: Please delete
the trees, colored lightning bolts, and other stuff that is on the ground in some of the most poular JKA-Maps in
your mod
11: Stances in the Force menu are interchanged
12: Force Grip is bugged, sometimes it can not be activated even when the enemy is weakened
13: It would be cool if the saber would stay turned on while choked or telekinesed into the air.
(JA+ has this option) -> picking up the fight again after a frip would be easier then.
14: In Ataru-Stance, when you do a standard attack, your charakter begins to talk
15: The Model of Darth Vader is too large
16: The damage of the Droideka is too low, 50% increase would be fine
17: There is a bug with Force Pull, when the ememy is close to you and you use it, he seems to "stuck" on the ground for a couple
of seconds and he can´t move. It sometimes happens with force push, to. This just happens with bots, -> lower priority.

Last but not least, there´s one thing we wanted to highlight especially:
We really like the way to fight with atk + force, the mechanics that the sword swings directly in the direction you move the mouse are pretty cool and realistic.
Please think about changing saberlocks back to random again (as in base JKA) and let us attack with atk + force without forcing saberlocks with that! That would make duels much more exciting, as you could choose the directions of your attacks yourself AND you would no longer be able to calculate when a saberlock will happen, the suprising effect of the saberlock would be there for both duelists.

That´s it. When these changes are done, you can certainly call your mod perfect and fairly balanced.

Agree with everything above.
Plus some of my thoughts:
-I'm curious if there a console command that changes saber swings speed or saber combat speed in general, because g_saberanimspeed that i tryed isn't the thing i was hoping for.

-The saber combat is still seems a bit odd if look from a side, i mean sabers are in opponent's bodies and as they fight they touch each other's hilts and hands, if you could make a "personal space" (if you know what i mean) a bit bigger while wielding a saber, to improve the view of the fights in general from a side, this would make the mod ultimate. :D (If it's possible ofc)

-Stances, i remember when in previous versions of the mod there was a different stances for all styles, but all of them are the same now, except niman and ataru. Can i somehow get'em back?

-Cartwheels - i really miss those, i want them back for the fast styles at least, like soresu and makashi, i would be very grateful. :x Youtube.com

-Saber throw is... well... odd. The saber flyes like a crazy boomerang lol The base animation of the saber throw would be good.

All of these above are not critical, but would be good to see them in patch or next version.

And did you find this interesting ability to control the direction of saber swing by holding F and attack buttons at the same time? Even while moving forward you can make rite\left swings, but it costs a good amount of force. Maybe it will improve saber combat greatly if we would be able to control the direction of our saber attacks by simple holding attack + mouse moving! What do you think about it?

And as about the Force Choke - it's a bit odd, isn't it? I mean the fact that your enemy begin to lift higher and higher while you choke it, this effect looks really strange...

New stance system. W.I.P
If your holding a saber and not moving or pressing block you will only stand in SABERSTANCE_STANCE
in this stance you can not see what saber style is being used (tactical advantage).
However if you hold block and change saberstyles ,then you can see the individual stance.
This is not a BUG it is so your opponent cannot see what style you are using.

You guys can be my beta testers now. I dont have much time for this anymore (new baby boy).

Test these dlls and tell me what you think.

don't know about saberlock, but we played quiete a lot and none happened, maybe it's just disabled on the server side.

ok, we'll check that out and tell you just about the most necessary things.

BUG REPORT. Here's the repro.
1) Insert JA CD1 and launch Evolution_of_Combat_III-SP.bat.
2) Choose 'Jedi Order' --> 'Quest'.
3) Skip through the 2 cutscenes and start the first level with your Padawan apprentice.
4) Do the "setforceall" cheat to acquire all Force powers.
4) Use "Force Influence" on one of the two Stormtroopers near the cliff.
5) While controlling the Stormtrooper, use the Stormtrooper to shoot other stormtroopers nearby.
6) CRASH with error message: "ERROR G_SPAWN NO FREE ENTITIES".

Ok firstly
Using cheats can have some adverse affects with the jedi outcast part of the mod,so best advice there is dont use cheats be a man and play as it comes.

In the setup menu set corpse removal time to 30 sec,this will help clear some entities faster.

SO same setup as before with installing this,

I nerfed the flachette so its not so deadly
fixed the lunge

I just tested saberlock and it works fine..

The new EoCIII Saberlock requires that you FORCE your opponent into a saberlock by pressing ATTACK +FORCEPOWER_BUTTON+direction left/right.

You have a grater chance at success if You make your opponent FATIGUED before you FORCE a saberlock on him.

If you press the combo correctly the saber will change direction very quickly and push into a saberlock .

Forcing FATIGUE on your enemy is done by
1. Perfect manual blocking
2. Making your opponent stumble
3. After your opponent is kicked down and he gets up he will be FATIGUED (so slap ,roundhouse kick,etc )

So. It would be totally awesome, if you could change saberlocking back to random again (as in base JKA) and let us attack with atk + force without forcing saberlocks with that! That would make duels much more exciting, as you could choose the directions of your attacks yourself AND you would be no longer able to calculate when a saberlock will happen, the suprising effect of the saberlock would be there for both duelists.

What do you think about that? :)
