Good idea, but doesn't sound too hard to make it so far. All that's left is to make a weapon or something use a TraceResult to capture the CBaseMonster ahead, and change it's mouth position.
Yes, it's bone controller 4 that controls the mouth. Unfortunately Half-Life only allows changes to bone controllers 0 through 3, and I had to search a bit to find how to change the mouth's value. It's possible on the client side in the cl_entity_s struct (I think that's where it is).

Yeah, I was planning to use a VGUI slider though. I just haven't worked out the slider yet.
well to make some model to pose his face, it must have a "controller" bone in his/her face, as you can see on some ,qc files on player, and npc models
