How is 2.1 translation going, or is it planned?

I'll try my hands at porting the translation.. I've just recently improved on the translation for 2.0 by replacing the menu-files with the English vanilla-files and also I've translated the city-names.

no. but some files you need to put to main data
its will not overwrite files, but other mods will not work stabile
so install Rus2 without other mods

In order to play this mod with Steam you need to go to Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War\tools\unpacker and run the "unpack_all"-program.

Then after it has finished you'd need to add the two folders that are outside of the main mod folder, "Banners" and "Models_strat" to the main data-folder of Medieval II for Steam - make backups of the old folders first before adding these as the changes might affect the main vanilla game and some mods.

So if you wish to play vanilla or certain mods that use vanilla models on the strategic map or vanilla banners - you then have the ability to go back to the vanilla stuff without needing to re-install the game.

When you have unpacked the Med2 files, added those folders to the data-folder of the main game and not the mod and clicked yes on "overwriting the files" - then it should work fine.

sry thats too complicated/dangerous. "unpack_all" says it can damage the medieval 2 installation. why dont you make one package to pick and drop into mods folder like most other mods? I would like to play this mod, it looks really interesting!

It's not dangerous as I've done so myself and that's already done with the CD by default.

This needs a more elegant solution. It's not new user friendly and from an old player perspective it is incredibly crude in what it requires. Surely a minimod can be made to accomplish this, or a solution can be made without breaking the 'mod foldering' maxim which a vast majority of mods truly do not need to break.
