Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Yea that makes sense AIM-120 is radar guided right?
And the Sidewinder was infrared guided.
So it would make sense to have some kinda radar.

Not all radars are concave these days. The most modern variants are flat panels often integrated directly into the design.
Now have another look!

There could be a restriction so that it had to stay within a certain distance of any of your command centers to fire, but I personally don't know how you would code that.

Then it wouldn't be a "Mobile"
Air Defense Vehicle, I use this thing with my assault forces to shoot down pesky helis and planes.

The radar is probably in the missile launcher housing up top. Remember this is a future tech application on an older cold-war design, they would have trimmed down on the design a bit due to micro-technology. In any case, I like it.

I PREFER PLAYING RUSSIAN FACTION, BUT WHENEVER I HAVE OPPORTUNITY TO SEIZE US TECH, I USE CHAPARRAL INSTEAD OF S-300. THEY'RE MORE FAST MOVING AND FAST FIRING.

Description

The Chaparral is back from its retirement in the 90’s and even though the frame is mostly unchanged it’s now packing AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles. Not only the new missiles boost performance over the old Sidewinders but make the Chaparral an anti-air platform that can be easily manufactured and is reliable.
The Chaparral is known for three things: precision, firepower and long range. Once a target is locked on and the missile is fired there is no escape for its prey. If your Raptors aren’t enough then what you need is a Chaparral. It will keep your skies safe and will seriously discourage future air incursions from your enemy.
