Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

For the Ural truck you can opt to replace the Stinger armed soldiers with a powerful surface-to-air missile array which is similar to the Russian Grumble in range and performance.

Yes it is excellent indeed, i just love those old school soviet anti air missiles.
Any drawbacks of "upgrading"? If I had to guess it looks like it loses deployment stealth.
It still has deployment stealth.
It becomes slower to fire/react compared to the missile guys, which means that the vehicle may pack more punch, but it loses effectiveness if some helicopter does manage to get up close. That is a downside that we have further emphasised with all heavy AA in 1.85: They have a more notable minimum range, which means that you still want to bring normal AA for up-close protection, especially against chopper squadrons.

This brings up the question of why not give US salvage a AA Lazer and instead of hover drives?
Maybe because, laser's require too much electricicty in order to work?
and it fits better to the GLA using outdated/scavenged stuff
more then hover drives?
Because hover drives that actually give the GLA some amphibious units has much greater tactical utility and potential to surprise the opponent than flashy lasers for the sake of flashy lasers. These trucks, as well as upgraded Quad Cannons are already beastly enough against anything that flies.
But if your only fighting USA then you would not get these upgrades, and be left with no salvage upgrades to help against the US's air superiority. You guy said that these upgrade were suppose to help against the faction you get then from and a AA upgrade would help more helpful then hover drives
So you go on a 1-2 or 2-2, raid Ivan, and then deploy around Johnny.
Or just try and do some early game raiding to try and keep the chair force on the ground.
I honestly prefer the Macgyer Drones than a Laser Weapon tbh...

Aw I liked the stinger guys! They were a very creative unit honestly, I liked watching them do their thing! But I do like how this looks!
Yeah, but of course it is optional if you want to upgrade your ural truck with this. So something for everybody.
