Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.
The Russian T80R Kodiak carries an experimental rail gun and it is the pride of General Aleksandr because it has made the Russian Federation the first nation to properly field rail guns in large scale warfare. Rail guns use magnetic rails to fire solid chunks of matter at hypersonic speed. Although rail guns are very powerful they have been known for suffering of a sharp loss of accuracy at extreme ranges. Aleksandr is currently experiment with different kinds of ammo but it is currently using an uranium charge that consists of two components: a shell of titanium and a core of uranium atoms suspended in plasma state. The T80R fires this powerful slug rapidly and efficiently being capable of piercing any armor.

That's actually very possible, it's done in physics/chemistry labs all over the world.

There is nothing crazy about plasma here, suspending atoms in a plasma state can be done and in this particular example it is used in the correct context, so thumbs-up from me ;)
Moving on to the model, it is okay. The model itself has been done well and I heartily approve. However the texture gets me down. Too many objects have been synthesized with the texture making it all appear a bit flat, which it is. Of course, at extended zooms this will not be a problem especially as the Generals engine blurs textures at maximum zoom. However when getting up close, somethings are going to look a bit weird. If I were you I would go back and change some of the textured cylinders into modeled cylinders ect, particularly seeing as this model doesn't brake the bank pollies wise.
I also notice that on the one side of turret there looks like what could be some sort of grenade launcher. Is it? Also, what tech level is this unit, mounting a railgun I would assume high, but something tells me it is only a basic unit.
Whether or not you back and alter it is of course completely up to you. I know what I would do but I don’t have god-knows how many models to do. I understand that once a model has been textured, going back and editing would involve almost completely changing it’s texture, something which in your eyes might not be an option.
Keep in mind that model is actually a VERY old model as it's been in the game since RotR SWR 1.0. In fact, I would not be surprised if the texture got updated in the future (much like the Lynx).
I have no idea what that thing you're talking about is, but I know that the T80R won't fire grenades.
Mounted on the turret, on one side there is the railgun, and on the other some kind of hole. The only other usage I could think for it would be a view-finder.
Ja, that's what I was guessing. All in all though, it doesn't matter, I think this model will get an update in the future, probably before version 2.0 when this unit will be introduced.

I'm pretty sure the hole in the turret is where a second barrel used to be.

Which cylindrical objects did you have in mind? The flat plates on the armour? As you have already pointed out, it will be hard to tell the difference in-game and honestly it doesn't seem worth the effort or the polys to correct something people will only ever see in zoomed-in pictures.
Put that upgrade to Golem and sentinel tank too. As the way it looks G.D.I. are to Russia. Superior firepower and brute force with an attitude. ;)

The T80R is the name of the tank that will be the General Aleksandre's MBT. The Railgun will come with the tank by default.

It's unique for generals because it's the only "TANK" with a "SINGLE" offset barrel.
you guy should put the ARENA defensive systems on the Russian tanks...you know couse they are all about heavy duty.
Not flaming or anything, but the description/lore came straight from EVE Online's description of their railguns and one of their ammo types. But hell, if these guns are as good as the rails in EVE. You guys got a superweapon on your hands :)

Lol i swear i though the railgun was the hole on the left. So the acceleration mechanism could have the cooling and energy safely.
The side cannon was used to pick "smaler" target while the railgun is reloading.
