Rise of the Reds – or ROTR for short – improves upon the C&C Generals formula while also adding its own distinct elements to it. Most notably, the mod adds two completely new factions, the tank-heavy Russian Federation and the defence-oriented European Continental Alliance. In addition, the three original factions China, USA and GLA have been greatly expanded and redesigned in a variety of ways, with several new units, buildings, powers and abilities to explore and combine in your in-game tactics.

Just Cosmetics :)

Most of the russian art assets were created almost 4 years ago and alot of us were still learning how to model/texture properly back then so looking back at them after we did the ECA made us feel that we might have to take an other look at them and improve them where possible.

You need to increase its range a little bit, i know its a flamethrower unit. But it should be able to fire from a longer distance, maybe one which the garrison cant shoot back, or maybe you should increase its health a little bit

Let's be honest here. Why would you need a salvo of 38 flying buckets of thermobaric hell for?

Ah, the old Russian units are getting a much needed facelift. I wish that the Buratino can act as a short range MLRS, firing all 38 rockets, instead of only firing 2 or 6 shots, because sometimes i want to fire all the rockets I can at a blob of infantry.

I know there's no kill like overkill but seriously?
The standard barrage can cripple most infantry attacks in itself and you can only kill them so much before you're basically firing the last 20-32 rockets at a scorched, flaming plain where infantry used to be.

Though, expanding on the request, an ability that would launch all the rockets, scattering them over a greater area*, but making it useless for the next several long minutes, might be nice, but I'm thinking it would still be TOO nice and bordering on minor superweapon even.
Something you'd use to soften the target up before an assault. Though, since it would scatter the rockets all over the place, you wouldn't get a guaranteed garrison clearing effect, and, as a result, might still get some troops in that pesky village you just set aflame.
*Say...somewhere around the Msta's smoke screen ability in size?

Only in barrage mode.
If you meet a trio in bombardment mode...you're gonna have a bad time.
Especially if they get a promotion or two.

And they WILL have a promotion or two if you won't get that hostile thermobaric bombardment and your infantry squads don't get along well...

Nice model for display, but will anybody be able to notice this detailization in-game? No offense guys, but may be less small thingies and more stuff really visible in-game, including textures?

You do realize that these tiny boxes on turret and hydraulics under the launchtubes will be noticeable either on maximum zoom or if it will be blown right into your screen by explosion? Or you mean something like placebo effect?

the vehicle carries a different function as the one in Shw so that will not happen anytime soon.

however there will be plenty of other explosive and long rage toys for General Zhukov once we get to adding the generals :)

actually if i may add, the first time i heard about this weapon system was from a mod called Mental Omega... and I immediately like it so, even if the cameo was that tinny icon and the actually ingame graphic is a bunch of voxel... it gives me a strange feeling, the look of it is both weird and interesting, and it is a design that conveys both weak and strong at the same time, and I think the look is just awesome, and it apparently is used as a flame tank yet it has all this missile tube that looks like metal honeycomb... is a sexy tank!!

Description

Even though it is technically a multiple launch rocket system, the TOS-1, comically dubbed the Buratino by the Russian military, is actually a large, mobile flamethrower. The vehicle packs a total of 38 launch barrels, each one armed with a powerful 220mm thermobaric rocket. This allows the Buratino to lay down a rapid barrage of fuel-air explosives that incinerate enemy light vehicles and foot soldiers, including those who seek shelter inside a fortified position.
