Republic at War is a total conversion modification for Star Wars Empire at War Forces of Corruption. The mod replaces the Empire with the Galactic Republic and the Rebel Alliance with the Confederacy. Republic at War focuses heavily on the theatrical films but also contains content from the Clone Wars cartoon series as well as the expanded universe. Players can re-enact various Clone War campaigns such as the Outer Rim Sieges. Players will have the choice to fight as either the CIS or the Republic and wage war for control of the galaxy. Realism is key and players will have unprecedented control over how and where they fight. Push forward with an entire clone legion such as the 501st or 212th or overwhelm your opponent with a seemingly endless number of B1 battledroids. The choice is yours. There are also a number of expansions planned that will add new (as well as polish existing) content.

I would like to request a brief guide to be added to the manual to outline early strategy or at least give some tips for GC.

My tip is to rush tech, go for neutral planets, and if you are republic build up all of the planetary turbo lasers, sending palpating around to get discounts. From my experience the ai won't attack until about 12 days in. The key to the republic in my opinion is to turtle in the core worlds and build up outer rim fortresses, and the CIS Rush all republic planets in the outer rim, steadily encroaching on the core worlds. Beginning strategy for me is to send delta squad and arc troopers to mygetto, then munillist, and the first target is the south quadrant. Also the sep worlds in the core worlds are also a priority

You guys are doing a better job keeping us in the loop than Disney is about Episode 7!

Sounds great, and love the pic :D

On the note of launchers, im sure its not that big a deal, but dont make the launcher require internet connection. Im on dial up, and my gaming PC is offline.

I say this because the Wars of Liberty team went and did that to their mod for Age of Empires 3(a game of the same age as Empire at War), and I had to do a half *** manual installation until they fix it

I get my girlfriend to download mods for me :P

We are not EA ;)

The launcher is an optional but powerful feature-collection to check, restore and update the mod. Of course for that you need an internet connection and, obvious, right ? But once you have checked your current version online the next times you can do offline too. Beside that however the mod does not require internet connection to start

Nice! But just to make sure, when the new verison comes out, I'll be able to just install it and start it offline, completely? Gaming PC doesnt have internet access. Well, I could with an external dial up modem but it'd be an unpleasant hassle :P

Eastern Front for CoH has it so you can turn off automatic updates for the game

Im active in watching the mod community, so I never miss out on updates and such anyway! :P Plus all the WoL team's forced updater thing does is link up to the website they host the mod at :(

Description

Nothing much to say about the image but maybe some more news about what we are doing at the moment:

Of course we are still working on the mod, which means we are working on some little bugs, updating text, exchanging some icons, adding new audio. Almost any new feature has been added now, so most time consuming work should be done. There are some things missing like, we are trying to make Wookies not allied with the empire any more or adding a new map for skirmish. Some of the changes that are already done or need to be, might be too small to even notice but they will increase the experience for sure.
Unfortunately the core mod is not the only thing we are working on. Both, the updated manual and the Mod-Launcher still have some major open tasks and we want to release them together with Republic at War.

Maybe next time ill have some picture of the new Map
